The Covert’s Crossing bridge in North Beaver Township has been in the area since at least the early 1900s, according to the Lawrence County Historical Society.

State police suspect someone used a torch to tear apart the bridge, which was worth an estimated $100,000, sometime between Sept. 27 and Wednesday.

“I couldn’t believe it,” said Gary Bruce, a spokesman for New Castle Development, the company that owns the bridge, which was 50 feet long and 20 feet wide. “It’s a lot of work.”

One night, a drunk hit a light pole and whacked the guard rail near where I work. The next morning when I was going in at 4:30am some dudes were lifting it and lugging it into their truck. Freggin nuts.

Also, that reporter is up WAY past his bed time and the 3 imbred morons they interviewd at 1:04 are hilarious!

This is awesome. I can understand someone like this. I mean, no one even noticed it was gone for like 2 or 3 weeks. Kudos.

I'll keep my eye open for any V.I.L.E. Henchmen in my area and go hang out at the Stadium.

Gotta say i dont think i could of pulled that one off....

I get scrap copper all the time though and that stuff is so easy to strip and sell. easy 10k a year if you play your cards right and know when to sell.

I guess working in the elctrical industry pays off sometimes.

we have azzhats here that steal copper from the switches at the train track/road intersections and the school district gets ripped off at least once a month. Last time, the thief lit himself up, which is a good thing. A lot of the scrap metal folks here don't care where it comes from. They were also stealing man hole covers for a while too.
