hi guys, i just picked up a 1999 q45 on tein springs and eurolines, the issue is, on the freeway the car feels so reckless (shakes, etc, maybe because it's missing two lug nuts studs that i need to put on) or maybe cus its the rear camber and road. but the car always seem to sway to the right on all roads, i have to bend the steering wheel to the left over to get it to go straight, so the issue is, is this an alignment issue, bent rim, or bushings? the car has 172k miles on it.

thanks in advance guys! i'm new to this forum

yikes... I would say you definitely have an alignment issue, the bottom line is you need to take it to an alignment shop and at the very least they need to read your current alignment so you can see where you are at... That will help out a lot...

oh alright man, i plan on doing that after i put the lug nut studs on, i was expecting this to be some bushing issues, i know on my GS. it would be a lower control arm bushing that has gone bad ....

Well heres what the issue is... IF your car pulls to one direction, its not necessarily because of what certain alignment specs are at, its what the DIFFERENCE is per side... Thats mainly what alignment shops look at is the difference between the sides..

Its hard to put a blanket statement that saying "because your car pulls, you need to replace a lower control arm bushing".. I am hesitant to make that call, and CERTAINLY if anything looks worn most of the time the alignment people will notice it...

oh and do you guys know how to put the driver side reclining vertically button piece back in place... the owner before had that piece and it came off so im tryna put it back in and it seems like a pain in a butt because the clip thing attached onto the seat button piece move freely, and yeah .... i would like to be able to recline my seat back and not just move the whole seat closer and further from the steering wheel.

okay so i checked how the vertical reclining piece is kept on and it looks like the previous owner broke the not only the piece you can pull off but the other part on the seat that clips to the piece, so i was wondering what other ways can i adjust my seats? can i stick like a pencil or something in the hole and pull the mechanism backwards?

I have same issue with my passenger seat, if you have both the knob and the clip that goes into the seat you can carefully insert squre end of clip into opening on seat then place paddle knob on clip and work the recliner. Mine sits perfectly on the side of seat but will fall off if played with.

are you talking about the clear white-ish clip thats on the paddle knob? so i should remove that and push in into the seat first then put the paddle knob over that ? the white/clear clip only has one side of the clip on it, the owner broke the other one. ...

but the other part, do you guys where the connector to the antenna mast on the y33 q45 is at? i want to disconnect it so the antenna wont have to come up everytime ... im looking to see if its like a pin-connector or something ,i looked and i saw a pin connector BY the antenna mast inside of the trunk but that wasn't the connector to the antenna so i connected it back in place.

AND the owner cut the three thin wires that is part of the seat belt where you would clip the the belt into. any idea what those three thin electric wires might be? im guessing it's the wire harness that lets the cluster know when the driver didn't put their seatbelt on ? thx alot in advance guys, i know i am asking a lot but i can't seem to find out the info. im looking for any where on this forum .. :frown:

If you still have issue I know of a good mechanic in LA that can probably fix both of your issues. He's in Venice and has a leather guy in the same complex to fix the seat issue if needed. Given the setup you have I seriously doubt that Firestone will get your issue resolved. Anytime you lower a car you screw up your alignment, the camber will always be out, but the toe should still be 100% and thus you shouldn't have any issues with pulling. I have both my Q and Z car lowered and Z-Expert fixed them both up so I don't chew through tires or have any issues...sure you wear tires a little faster but I always get rid of tires before their service life is over :)

haha yeah man my toe is off, the last time the car had an alignment was more than a year ago, the car has too much camber in the rear and both of the wheels have toe-out, but i guess the front right pulls more, i have to angle to my steering wheel to the left to keep the car straight.
