I am in desperate need to learn what the best steps are in performance mods. I did a search and couldn't find a complete list. What I'm looking for is a numbered list of what mods should be done and in what order. If any combination of products compliment each other or should not be installed without another, I really need to know that as well. If someone could put together a list, I'm sure it would help us folks that aren't very knowledgeable. Here are some of the mods I have somewhat learned about and am considering, please list them in your lists as well.

It all depends on what you intend on doing to your car in the end. There are some parts that compliment each other but it doesnt make a difference what order you put on exhaust and a header the power result will be the same, unless you plan to turbocharge then you need bigger piping and dont get a header. Tell us specifically what you want out of your car and it will allow us to help you better. Do you want a drag car? to go sideways? auto cross? Etc...

I want power for now. My car is an automatic 1995 240sx SE. I'm not focusing on handling just yet, but I will do that also. I am looking for low end torque first, then high end hp. I just ordered the Injen system w/extension and want to know where to move to next. I know everyone has their own opinion as to which way I should go and I would like to hear as many opinions as possible. Here are some of my thoughts...

1. Headers2. Exhaust3. Cams4. ECU ugrade (although it will be tough since I can't be without my car for that long)5. Electric Fan replacement (do I need to put two on instead of just replace the existing, and why?)6. Crank Pulley ( I am reading this may be harmful to my car, true or false?) What else and please list order if applicable. thanks to all that respond.

There isn't a definitive list and you won't make big naturally aspirated power without heavily working the engine over. The mods you have are good, if you want more you'll need higher compression pistons but then you can never go turbo. You need two fans because ones a pusher and ones a puller. You don't want the crank pulley with the electronics you have, and sometimes they can cause bad harmonics, which with a vibration prone motor like the KA is never good. Thats the only downfall is your battery will drain because you won't be providing enough power to all that stuff and harmonics.

Standard Upgrades:1) Intake2) Exhaust3) Headers/Downpipe

Advanced Upgrades:4) Cams5) Higher Compression Pistons6) ECU Reprogram

There really isn't all that much to do unless you get into things like independant throttle bodies, which for some reason I know you don't want to do. : )

You would see more gains in suspension and handling than you ever will in standard naturally aspirated performance from the 240SX.

Thanks Daunttless, but why do you say I won't want the independant throttle body. What benefits would this provide and why should I get it?

Because the more radical you get the less streetable the car becomes. : )

Why 2 fan again? what exactly is a pusher and a puller from the fans?

And why a new crack pulley ain't all that good? i dont' get it.

Thankz
