Plenty of guys on these and other forums run KA-T's on completely stock internals.
Just check further down the screen, and you'll see that Ivan just broke the 400hp/tq mark on a stock engine.
As long as you can avoid detonation, you shouldn't have a problem (unless you miss a shift and rev that mofo to 10,000 rpm...like an F1 car, but with more parts scattered on the road behind you).
You will most likely want to address your fuel management. An FMU, higher capacity fuel pump, a JWT ECU, bigger injectors, etc....there are plenty of alternatives depending on how much power you want. Do some searching on fuel systems, and you'll see what other guys are running.
Exactly what kind of turbo is this guy selling you and how long since the rebuilt? Also, what kind of manifold?
If the turbo is in good shape and the manifold is decent, that alone would be worth $500, IMO.
