I went out with a friend tonight to see Star Wars Episode 2 on Imax (which was great). And when we went out to my car to find that the window behind the drive side window was broke. They had ripped the molding around the window off, then just broke the window. They ripped the molding around the shifter and took all but 2 screw out around the head unit. The went through the glove box, ash tray, center counsle box and took NOTHING. They failed to take anything. The head unit (which was only $200 3 years ago) was not the most expensive thing in the car. I have serveral hunderd dollar's worth of tools in the trunk. Also have rims worth about a grand. But they were able to break a window, scrach the hell out of the area around the window, rip off moldings, and bend the metal around the CD player. This **** sucks. Now I have to get a new window, and i have to get a new paint job to fix the scrachs (which i won't do) and clean out my car of all the glass. I called the Police and they came out. They took finger prints but said they were most likely mine 'cause there were marks that coule have only been left by gloves. So they were worthless. So I have alot of work to do tomarrow. Anyone know how much that window cost? I will just buy one from a junk yard. I just needed to b**ch to to someone. This SUCKS.

damnz, that's bad. i sometimes see the rear little window being auction on ebay, maybe you can check there.

240s have to be award of thief just as much as honda. i think 240s are really easy to break in to. Especially the window parts, ppl can just pull the window and stick a hanger or something to open the door. The window isn't even seal good.

Out of curiosity what makes you think that he's from New York just because he was at an Imax? I live in Iowa and we have one in our town. They are everywhere dude.

This kind of vandalism is covered under comprehensive insurance. I know a lot of people who dont carry it, but i swear by it. I even have a $0 deductible on it. If you carry comp, go to your insurance company before you buy anything.

I'm from the chicago land area and we have a bunch of Imax. I do have Comp. But the amount my insurance rates would rise wouldn't make it worth it. I have cleaned out the car and bent back all of the metal. Other than the window I have things back to normal.

The cops took finger prints off your car? Wow My car was broken in to and the cops just said Sucks being you. Gave me a report to turn into my Insurance company and where on their way. I think the longest part of the whole situation was the part where I has to tell the cop how to spell Nissan. Who knew it was such a hard to spell word.

Ya they took them off the plastic thing around the shifter. Then today they said they think that maybe one of the people didn't wear gloves so asked if they would take my prints. So i went down there and they took them. They said that if any are left that aren't mine the will call me and try to find a match. I hope they find these guys.

I think they wanted the prints because over ten of these break in have happened at this and another Moive theater. They probably want to stop it fast and need prints to link them. I'm in the first car they didn't get anything out of. Lucky me.

See, thats the only reason I can think of to be David Hasslehoff, so you can drive The Nightrider. : ) Have your car kick their asses for breaking into it... Well, that or run 460,000 volts of electricity thru your vehicle so that if they manage to regain consciousness and/or live it will be to have second thoughts about a life of crime everytime they see a vehicle. : )
