I currently purchased a ka24de engine from my friend (Who drives an s14, and I drive an s13) that came out of his car. I had planned on putting this in my car, I have everything ready to go, motor is fully rebuilt now, and I have the ECU and wiring harness, now here come's the "He's an idiot" question. Can I use my s13 transmission for this motor or am I going to have to get an s14 one? :/

Okay, now I wish I would have edited the first post. I currently have a single slammer in my car (Came with the hatch when I traded my totaled s14, I raised a lot of question because it isn't suppose to be in the car because it's a 91) Will the transmission still work? Sorry for such a noob question, I just need to know, lol.

If I remember correctly, newer obd2 ka24de trans have a hole for the crank angle sensor, which a ka24e transmission won't have. You'll probably have to drill a hole for the sensor or swap the bell housing.

Second swap bell housing. The DOHC trans bellhousing won't bolt up to the SOHC engine or vice versa that is why I bought a diff trans for my dohc lol.

Thank you everyone for the answers. I do believe I still have an extra DOHC bell housing so I'm good. :D

the dohc transmission from a s14 bolted right up to my s13 sohc. i don't no what you guys are talking about. I just didn't plug in most of the sensors. actually the only wires i got plugged in is for the speed sensor. and my cruise works and everything. I guess that's something that most people have trouble with?

Agree with rsagen. I'm using a SOHC transmission with a my DOHC S14 motor in my S13. Bolts up fine.

OP, you will also need a s13 dohc distributor. Just so you know. UNLESS you are rewiring the S14 interior plug to fit your S13 one.

I do believe I have a distributor, if not then I guess I can get ahold of one cheap from one of the guys around here.

Lol! Thanks guys for the bellhousing info. I still have a DOHC one so even if they weren't able to bolt up (Which I questioned anyway...) I still had an extra haha.

Bah nm - I was misinformed... but at least I have a sweet rebuilt trans lol, Anyway so that answered your question - now if you use a clutch from a dohc on your sohc all you need is a new pilot bearing ;).
