creophus wrote: You took formal martial arts, including Muy Thai and you were trying to throw roundhouse kicks in a "real fight"? This all sounds bogus. Assuming you are telling the truth, you should have never picked that fight. No way you could have all that training without "self-defense" being emphasized. You weren't defending yourself, you just wanted to beat some people up. Now, don't get me wrong...I'm all for some people being beaten up! But you put yourself at risk, physically, and legally. If the cops find out, you'll be the one with charges pressed against you. Your formal martial arts training makes you more responsible than the average joe. That could have also been used as justifcation for one of them shooting you. And please don't fool yourself into saying , "I know they didn't have a gun or knife...." I know quite a few people who carry weapons and no one suspects they would.
Any witness who saw you follow them into the parking lot, would have not seen them throw something at your car. You would certainly be in the wrong. Don't do something like this again. It's not worth it. You got off lucky.

I was throwing the roundhouses to try to subdue him, with the least physical injury possible, by taking his legs out as he was much taller than me. Should I have done something along the lines of side-kicking or a full-blown back kick to his legs I assure you they would have been broken. I am a very small person at 5'10" and 135lbs. My actual intentions were to get their insurance because I didn't know if they dented my car or not. I didn't throw the first punch. I simply returned/countered everything he threw at me.
IF the cops find out. What two teenage guys are going to say that one guy smaller than them beat the crap out of them? Two teenage full of testoterone guys. They probably will never speak of this ever again.
As far as weapons go, I carry a full-tang 8,000 folds Tanto in my trunk and various throwing knives in my cabin. When I saw him go to his trunk, my first instinct was to grab my Tanto, but I wanted to just get the insurance and go but not before giving them my piece of mind. He was the one who started swinging I just finished it.
