Hey guys I dont know to much knowledge on wheel specs. However I own a 90 240sx and im looking to purchase 17" or 18" wheels for it. As I have saw im was not being specific enough. Im looking for a set of wheels that i can throw some wide tires to play around in. I want to maximize my wheel whels without having problems. I am working with 4 lugs gentalmen. I need to find out what the best offsets are, I am using a quarter inch spacer in the rear. I dont nessecarily want you guys to pick a pair of rims for me I want to know whats the widest wheel I could fit with the widest tire while keeping ride comfortabily.

17 foot wheels? Are you trying to make a Japanese Bigfoot?

Don't take us as being intentional unhelpful bastards, it's just that you ask a very broad no-direction question. There are literally THOUSANDS of 17" rims you can run. You didn't state purpose, what type/style you were leaning toward, if it mattered if it was 4 lug or 5 lug, how much work you want to put into making the rims fit (easily & you don't mind sunken ship, or you want the flushest of the flush), etc, etc.

So, once you figure out those questions, it's probably 99% already been answered on this forum, and problem within the last recent 5 pages of this sub forum...

w/ just 17" rim... google gives you about 26 million results:

O yea, and to actually be a little more helpful, here's the "show off your rides thread" about 71 pages of pics, a lot of 17" rims there.

Well, two very popular wheel choices are 5Zigen FN01RC wheels in 17x7 or17x8 in the 4 lug 4x114.3 bolt pattern. One of our sponsors, SPLParts sells 'em -

Sportmax makes some wheels that are inexpensive and seem to be holding up well. They are heavier than the higher quality, more expensive wheels.

There's a vendor selling Sportmax wheels here -

Changing from the 4 lug hubs that your vehicle has now to 5 lug hubs opens up a lot more wheel choices, but the swap itself will set you back a few hundred dollars + the cost of the wheels and tires.
