https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPhOXF ... ND-EZjkJaA Found out some good information on the VK45's Most important is to locate where the starter is on the motor. If it's on the passenger side like the VH45 then the collins adapter plate will work. If it's on the driver side (USA) then it won't work.

Thanks for linking the playlist, Yellow. The videos will definitely answer most questions, but here is a thread as well. It is on the M45 subforum since most damaged VK45DEs will affect members there, but I think the info would be handy for those looking for JDM options as well.

@EdBwoy Do you know if the cams are different in 02 vs the 06 engines? I noticed that the hp difference between them. Not sure if you could attribute that to the revised SAE power rating or cam and exhaust manifold changes? Also on VCT do you know how many degrees it's sweep on the cam advance and retard? 25deg or 45? Just a shot it in the dark since I can't seem to find that anywhere online.

I should visit more often, send me a message if I'm unresponsive on a thread.

The difference in power numbers is something I'd attribute to rating methodology. Because I'd actually hope the 06+ engines got better with the revised intake manifolds and exhaust manifolds.

The hardware shows no difference so cams and crankshafts should be interchangeable.

On VCT, I thought it was 30 degrees, but I'll have to confirm.

Did either of you find an answer to the VCT question?

I have experimented and found that the limit is approximately 35 degrees. The ECU can be set to advance the cams upto 45 degrees but the sensors only show it advancing upto 35 degrees, it will fluctuate a bit, and sometimes show 35.5 or even 36 but then comes back down to 35. So I believe that while the ECU is trying to hit 45 degrees advance the mechanical limits of the system are approximately 35 degrees,

Is this with the 06+ ecu's? and that's some good information thanks.
