I have a 1994 NA 300zx se. The se was supposedly a special club edition that nissan put out, I have a hard top (no sun roof) cloth non powered seats...anyways supposedly it is a bit lighter amongst some other minor differences.

My question is about sway bars. I believe the 2+2 and the twin turbo share the same bars. I was curious if anyone knew if this "se" version had the regular NA bars on it or if it used the bigger twin turbo bars. Looking to upgrade to the twin turbo/2+2 bars if they are not already on there. Hopefully someone will know what I am talking about. Thanks.

Welsome to Nico! I gotta tell ya this is the first I've hears of a 94 se, and I've never seen a slicktop with a sunroof!? is it aftermarket? I know there were the 95-96 SMZ's and GTZ's and 96 fairlady edition which I believe was purely cosmetic, as for the sway bars ether the are stiff enough to handle the body roll or they are not, if you feel they aren't stiff enough, measure them and start looking at the thickness of the aftermarkets chances are the aftermarket bar woud be cheaper than a new OE bar, unless you have access to a used one in which case you can measure each bar for comparison

please do post up some pic's of you're car I am querious, and any details about what makes it diffeent from the normal produstion cars, I assume it's a N/A wtih the JN1HZ vin code?

i can get some pics up for sure. I autocross this car so im looking to stay with stock bars. It is a hard top, I meant to say no t tops. haha i was a bit tired when posting the first time.

Supposedly nissan put out these "se" models in 1994 they were all black, all had cloth, basic power options. It was supposedly "lightger" for club racing.

I can throw the vin up if that will help determine anything.

Im also have some power issues, down on power, will bog down, sometimes even missfire when its been sitting for a bit, its got about 118,000 on it, did a new clutch around 114k. Already replaced the temp ecu sensor, that gave it some of its power back for awhile.

I was hoping to find some enthusiasts in the baltimore/dc region that really knows this car to throw me some info.

Nissan North American never made a special club edition Z32. Its called a slick top. Also, there was never an "SE" model persay. The slicktops were actually a very very base model and only available in NA. While new they weren't desirable, the Z community has found much love for them due to reduced chassis flex and less weight even though it isn't that big of a difference. In the collector market T-Tops are still where the money is at.

Your sway bars are the same as those on any other NA Z32. The TT bars are an upgrade for you but I would highly recommend the Suspension Techniques sway bars. They're affordable and IMO the best bang for the buck suspension mod that you can do on a Z32.

Either way, welcome to NICO and congrats on the Z32. Keep it clean

if you're autocrossing in stock class you're allowed to upgrade the front swap bay, and I would recomend the fattest one you can find, you'll be amazed, you're also allowed to replace the shocks with aftermarkets that use the origional mounting points; penske, ADS, koni race, tokiko ilumina's, just depends on you're budget, you're also allowed to run lightweight wheels, drop in air filter, and a cat back exhaust
