Ok, I had a friend of mine do my wiring harness for my rb25 that im swapping into my 97 s14. It was his first time doing one for an RB into an s14 but he has always been known to be really good with wiring. I dont think he did anything wrong, I just am a little confused as to what some stuff is and where it is supposed to go. I think some of it probably has to do with the AC that i took off and things like that but I wanted to double check. I have everything plugged in that I could think of/find as far as the engine harness goes.

So, can you experienced RB owners of NICO help me out and tell me what these plugs are?

Also, is there any part of my stock KA harness that I need to put back on? I do not have anything to plug into my wipers nor is there anything to plug into my fuse box in the engine bay?? Sorry for all the questions and they may seem pretty newbish, I just suck with wiring. Thanks for your help in advance!

looks like an s2 harness on an s1 engine...you may have issues with the coils.pretty rare car you have, factory non ac it looks like.

how much do you trust your friend, i can tell from looking at the motor that it would have fried the ecu on first power up...he connected the o2 sensor plug to the tps.the motor is an s1 (or atleast the throttle body is) because of the plugs you have on the harness.

hmm..i was told the only difference between an s1 and s2 that really set them apart is one has the ignitor built into the ecu and one has it on the coil pack cover? I am new to the RB series so bear with me as I am learning some still and wiring is a huge weak point for me.

that is one difference but the s2 motor also has a different tps, maf, harness and ecu.that is an s2 harness on an s1 motor...if you look at the motor there should be a black box near the back of the coil pack cover with a 6pin plug on one side and a 7 pin on the other.your coils will also have 2 bolts holding them down rather than 4 if it truly is an s2 motor.

there is no black box(ignitor) on the back of the coil pack as I previously stated. I have read that there should be 3 prongs in the MAF plug rather than 5 if its an s2 so I will go check that as well as the coils. But I was told when I bought the motor that it was an S@ and there is no ignitor on the back of the coil pack cover so I figured it was an S2. So what do you think all of these plugs are then? Also, what about the KA harness? Why do I not have any plugs to plug into the fuse box?

i checked the MAFS, it has 3 pins in the plug, and there is only 2 bolts holding the coilpacks in. So, it is truly a S2...

odd that you have an s1 tps then...it can be made to work but will take some rewiring on your part to suit the s2 harness.also nothing connects to the ka fuse box in a s14 swap its all done thru the f3 plug.

Yeah it seems a little odd to me also. I didnt know there was a difference in the tps. I sent you an IM. Sorry for the newb stuff with this wiring I am trying to learn.

so that wire carlh claimed was the o2 sensor wire is def. not and def. goes to the tps...Which I thought I was right about that because my experience with wiring is things generally only plug in where theyre supposed to go... so can onyone help me on this or.....???

lol, that is the wrong assumption to make...trust me that is the o2 sensor plug.you have a s1 tps, and an s2 harness...the plugs are different.you can try it if you like but you're proly going to damage the ecu doing so...just because a connector fits doesnt mean that its, its home.

hmm it doesnt plug into my 02 sensor though...only thing it even comes close to fitting into is the TPS. I dont know, I hate wiring. So do I need to buy a s2 tps or just rewire this harness?

The f3 plug is the large white plug under the passeger side kick panel by the ecu,it's like a junction where all interior accessories connect to the engine bay harnesses.

ahh ok...well then what about how it connects to the fuse box then? There has to be some kind of connector that goes to the fuse box right? Also, does anyone know of any place that I can buy a new s2 harness? Or at least a used one in good condition? Im about to call the place I got the motor from and see if they will send me a new one if I send this one becasue Im begnning to wonder if this one isnt missing some stuff. Then Im just gonna send it out to mckinney or someone i think.
