Car: installing stereo systems and minor performance upgrades

Post

I was bored tonight and looking around at some pictures I've taken, and well just felt like posting a few for all to see, tell me what you think.

I found a spray on engine detailer that works insanely well. Just clean the engine with a degreaser, spray this stuff on, leave the hood open in the sun for 20 minutes, then drive around for alittle bit and it bakes a smooth shiny surface onto your engine. Well worth the $5/ a can.

My car next to my brothers new car, a 94 Lexus Sc300.

Finally My system starting to look alittle better. Still needs some work though.

Bomex- Bought the can at autozone i've detailed my engine 3 times and my brother's once and still have close to 3/4 of the can left.

574- Its an automatic, picked it up for 5k with 145,000 miles. still runs really well, was well taken care of.

The spray last along time, it does pickup dirt and dust so once a week i take some paper towels and just go over the engine back wiping off the dust, ever 2-3 wipe downs you might wanna respray unless you lived on dirt roads then clean at will.

w1ngzer- i spray the entire bay, just make sure to cover your belts, pulleys, and air filter with plastic .

So you won't have to cover up the wires and stuff like when working with simple green? drifter, I think I read on the stick about detailing armorall has silicone something or other and will end up harming it in the end.

it didn't say anything on the can about covering wires but it did comment on covering the distributor, but not the spark plug wires so, i don't know. If something does happen I'll be the first to find out lol. still reppin stock wires so no big loss there. I've heard some weird things about simple green pitting up the valve cover and stuff too, not sure if its all true, but I've never used it.

the cd-2 is alot different than alot of detailing stuff i've tried, I used to use the armourall rubber detailer on all the rad hoses and such but that stuff stayed slippery as well you know for the longest time, This cd2 goes on kinda slippery but after you drive the car around afew times and let the engine heat get to it it bakes itself onto the engine, the rest of the bay stays alil tacky but you can either leave it or wipe the excess off. I leave it until i have to do my weekly wipe down.

washed them last night was going to take some shots of the side by side today out in the sun, but it poured most of the day, so after i get back from dropping of job applications, I'll snap afew shots. I'll make sure to get some better ones of the system, I know one of you guys wanted to see some better shots of it.
