some quick questrions about a 89 s13

I was wondering if I could fit a 89 distrubitor in a 90 ka24e and is there any benefit using an 90 auto ecu on a 90 manual engine?are both ecu's (auto vs. manual) suppose to look identical? I swapped out the ecu that I thought was from an auto, but they both look identical, same numbers and everything, but I noticed I had alot more response when I hit the throttle, how could this be? is there any other benefits from using an auto ecu other then no speed limiter? is the fuel mapping and timing different?

mapping is supposedly a bit better on the auto ecus. I've yet to see this proved by any dyno numbers or someone pulling them and checking out the roms.
