sold my fastback and bought a vert, so i'm new to the convertible scene. Before i sold my fastback, i was getting smack talked on left and right because my car had 2 primer spots, this community looks friendlier . if you guys can answer a few questions for me, i'd appreciate it a lot.

-did a sr20/5speed swap now my top doesn't go down?

-where can i find the weatherstrip pieces that goes between the window & quarter window?

-missing rear seats, would the s13 coupe seats fit perfectly? (searched, only found a post about s14 seats into a s13.)

i'll probably have more questions because my project is still in progress. please don't flame me, your help and inputs are very much appreciated. thanks.

Awesome! Welcome to the 'vert club. You will find our group to me much more mature, more fun, and very very helpful. All we ask is that you post up some pictures, and contribute when you have something cool to share or when you can help out another member.

Very common issue on the 5 spd swap. Check out this thread.. zerothread/77784. On the first post toward the bottom of Tenkawa's write-up you will find a picture and talk about connecting the brown/yellow and green/blue wires to trick the car into thinking it's in park all the time. Otherwise the car won't allow the top to function while it's in a forward gear.

try to find a 'vert in a local junkyard... or punt??? Very hard to do! I wonder if you could get the parts from a 90's mustang 'vert and cut and mold them yourself??? We've all been struggling with weatherstripping for a while now. If you come up with something, let us know!.

Yep S13 coupe seats fit perfectly!

Ask away! We're here to help. You won't get flamed.. I promise. Now let's see some pics of this new 'vert. Check out the convertible registry as well.... sign up. Also keep your eyes out in the coming week for 240sxconvertible.com logo decals.

Anyhow... again.. welcome to the club! Glad to have you.

thanks bro! i went to my local nissan dealer today and asked about the weatherstrip, he told me it's discontinued. he said they can't even get ahold of the convertible top anymore.

i'll get pics up as soon as my car is driveable. looks like *** with stock suspension.

Rear Coupe seats DO NOT fit in a vert. The vert rear seat is smaller.

Really!?

Well then I stand corrected. I was under the impression that if AZHitman was able to install S14 seats with slight modification, that the S13 rear seats would fit.

However, given the location of the rams and frame of the top, I can see how the 'verts rear seat might need to be a bit more narrow.

Thanks for correcting me Keith!

hey bro did you ever get ur seats in? how'd u modify it? also are the panels in the rear that covers your 5 1/4 speakers, the same as the coupe/fastback panels?

i don't have any interior at all guys. if you guys can help me out in anyway i'd appreciate it. the only interior i have are s14 seats i bought recently. i don't have carpet, door panels, rear panels, rear seats, need a replacement driver side quarter window. that quarter window is going to hurt because it's sprinkled today in Westminster, CA. that means rain is just around the corner meaning i can't really drive my convertible unless i find that quarter window

Are you talking about thin rubber strip that's attached to the quarter window vertically? If so, what side is it? Driver or passenger?

i need the black piece between the 2 windows for BOTH sides. and i need that quarter window, (that's not a pic of my car).

i think rain season is around the corner, and without that quarter window i can't really drive my car because i'm scared of rain/rust. thanks and if you guys can help me out, i'd appreciate it

You can't buy just the strip. It comes with the quarter window since the strip is glued on it. Without it, it's not a good idea to drive or leave your car in the rain.
