So my engine still makes a strange sound... I just can't seem to figure it out.
It used to make two strange sounds, however one was the CAS being bad. That has been remedied.
Still my engine makes a strange sound. I just can't figure out what it is.
It is really hard to explain the sound in written words. It's like a struggling sound. It seems to be like a rubbing or surging sound. It seems to coincide with the revs of the engine a bit.
Here's a couple questions....
1.) Would a very bad and restrictive downpipe cause an engine to make a struggling sound? -- I am getting a new dp made, but it may be a few weeks and I really need to make sure my car is running OK before driving it an hour to get the downpipe made and installed.
2.) I seem to have developed a strange misfire accompanied by a loud fuel injector.. How hard is it to change a fuel injector?
3.) What kind of airflow goes into the head of the engine? If I unscrew the oil cap from the top of the valve cover, the sound seems to go away, but after a couple seconds the engine starts to change pitch a bit so I put it back on... What does air do in the head? Is there supposed to be an airflow, or should it be completely sealed?
I took off both valve covers and looked at the insides... I didn't notice any sign of rubbing, damage to the head, or anything out of place... I just can't seem to figure out what the issue is. I just seems like the cams are struggling to turn or the Timing belt is struggling to spin..
Any ideas? What should I do to test or look at without having to remove the head... I can't afford to get the head planed and a new head gasket and new head studs, etc...
I know it's a lot of questions, and they are a little scattered... I just can't seem to figure this out... I am starting to think about selling the car.
Thanks for all your help guys!!!
