Hi, I'm new to the forum and was wondering if anyone had any info on how to go about running a power wire from the battery to the trunk of my Q45, I own a 1992 infiniti Q45. I also was wondering how hard it is to find a new infiniti q45 hood because i've been looking for about 2 weeks (half hearted attempt due to work schedule) and have only been able to find 3 lowest price being $618 highest being $904 from the dealership, my hood was bent in half due to the same problem my friend had with his infiniti when closing the hood one day. I have enough money to afford the new hood for $904 but...don't exactly want to pay that much. I can not get my new paintjob done until I get a new hood. Also I am going to paint the car midnight black with black/charcoal interior and green HID's and will post pics once I have completed that work :chuckle: .
Thank you for any help with anything that I've asked here.
P.S. I live in Alaska, which might contribute to my efforts of finding a hood.. Would it be cheaper to get a hood fabricated?

Welcome to NICO

I wish you were closer to Memphis as there is a 93 model on the yard. You can get hood there for under $30. I can't begin to imagine the shipping cost from Memphis to Alaska. We do have some members in Washington state that might know of a yard with a hood for a 90-93 model G50.

Memphis to alaska would be around $200-400, which is still cheaper than I'm looking at. The quality of paint does not affect my judgement on the hood at all, as long as its straight.

I wish there was a Q in my area. I checked the salvage yards and nothing. Once in a while a 90-93 model will appear at Pull-a-Part.

Check the NICO classified section for someone parting out a 90-93 model.

Also try contacting member/moderator Q451990 as you might be able to contract with him or he may know someone in the Atlanta area that will ship a hood from a salvage yard. There are usually a large selection of Q45s in the Atlanta yards.. Also, I believe there will be many in the Dallas Ft Worth areas.

Why can't the bent hood be straigend? I am sure it MIGHT cost less.

The corners are creased pretty severly, so i'm not sure if its possible to be straightened.
