Okay. I want to get a CA, but I have a few questions regarding the Transplant. I have not fear about doing anything myself, I just want to get a few things straight. I have narrowed my Ca seller down to 2 places, J Spec and Flash options. I have read some bad stuff about Flashoptions delivering thier clips, so I thing I think I will go with J Spec. But, they only say Engine, Trans and ECU on thier site for thier CA package. What about the wiring Harness? I want a FMIC, so i figure not getting the stock SMIC is not a problem, but what other things are not included that I will need? And the Wiring. what is involved in that. I have yet to find a difiitive answer on modifying that. Should I do it myself? If so, where can i get some diagrams and instructions for doing this? Is there anyone who I can send the harness to for a CA swap?

Hey Oneor1, that's awsome, I haven't seen anyone with a CA in the Richmond area. My AIM is Vanssn240sx, I would really like meet you in person sometime and see your car and talk. Did you do your swap yourself?

BTW, I got an E-mail from J-Spec, they said their engine set comes with a cut Harness, does that mean cut at the fire wall? If so, couldn't I just splice my KA harness firewall back to the Ca harness firewall forward?

cut harnesses are bad news. I don't think I know anyone who has used a stock ECU with a cut harness sucessfully, but if you are really good with eletronics and eletric wiring, there is not reason it couldn't work wiring it up yourself.

Okay, they also said that it would be missing the ignitro chip. Is there a place to get this part? I coulnd't find a Ignitor chip for a CA18.

Edit: I read about using a Q45 Chip? What's up with that?

I'd be more than willing to help you out with putting it in, its pretty simple. hit me up on AIM if you see me on, I should be on for a little while, I'll let you in on some CA stuff that you might not know... Take it easy

Don't leave Venus Auto out of your list of possible places to buy your engine. I know three different people that have ordered engines from them and if anything was wrong with the engines Venus was more than helpful in remedying the situation. Also since they deal in clips you won't have to worry about anything being missing. The only trick is getting the right person (Vicky) on the phone.

Only Problem is, they want 1500 for a clip, and 500-600 to ship. I am on an extremely tigh budget, so anything I can save, I will.

do you have a friend with a business license? seems like most people do. wht you do is call up and give them the business license, and they drop the price of your clip to somewhere around 1200 bucks.shipping on a clip to VA is gonna cost you 500 or more from cali, no matter where you get it.You should check out some of the "local" places for you:noyan importers, jgy customs, etc....I called up noyan and I was supposed to order a ca from them but their customer service really sucks, they said they would get me one but I've been waiting since may.so I'm not keeping my fingers crossed.JGY customs seems to think their engines are worth an awful lot but it may be cheaper than paying shipping on one from cali, you should check with them too.both those companies are right in VA.

A new Question. Will a CA run with a stock KA MAF. On Heavy Throttle, they sell stock MAFs, and the KA and SR are the same I think. So will this work for a CA?

They are not the same, although they look the same. The CA MAF has a smaller diameter inside.CA = 45 mm = 1.77 inchSR = 50 mm = 1.97 inch
