Hey guys I'm a new member, not new to modding cars, I currently have a 94 Nissan Maxima, pretty sweet, but anyway.... My mom dosn't want to keep my current car, to expensive to maintain, so I have been searching for a new car, and I love Nissans, so I figured on the 240sx/silvia swap. I'm looking around for a used, non-running 89-94 240 SX, and sooner or later I'm going to need an SR20DET.

That's just sorta back story, my main question is: should I attempt the engine swap myself? And if not, is there anyone in Texas who would like to help me? Now keep in mind that I'm not going to do this for some time, probably 3-4 months at least, but I thought I'd start asking around. Thanks Alot Chris Morrow Austin, Texas

How do you think upkeeping an SR20 would cost you less than your Maxima?

If you know what your doing under the hood it wouldnt be a difficult swap to do. Wiring is the main concern.

Basicly the deal is that my sister wants the car, and she dosn't want the Maxima. I want a car that I can work on, mod etc, but my mom has said that she dosn't want my sister to drive a standard (pretty dumb yeah, but what can you do) so the comprismise is I can find a car that I can work on, and my sister gets a sentra (not the new Spec V)

About wiring what are the main problems? Chris
