Wow, long time no see! After 6 fun years with the Skyline I am looking at selling within the next 6-12 months - most likely for a 370Z.

1). Now that Infiniti exists in AU, I am looking at rebadging the entire car from JDM to UDM. I don't want to do this unless it's a full rebadge, which includes the TV screen to include the Infiniti logo rather than Nissan. Does anyone know if there is simply a way to 'flash' the image/animation or would the entire nav need to be replaced? If the entire nav system needs to be replaced, does anyone know if a UDM unit would 'work' with a JDM car without major dramas? Do you know if anyone here has done that before?

2). Since I don't use the nav for navigation, the DVD unit in the upper glove compartment is useless, so I am looking at replacing it with an actual DVD/MP3 player. Does that simply connect to an AUX port at the back and work with the existing head unit? When I change to AUX mode from the wheel control (mode) it changes to 'TV' with channel selection (though these are JAP channels and do not work in AU). I want the car to look as stock as possible on the inside so only want to change the nav DVD.

Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Sorry that I can't offer any answers, but was really curious as to why you would rebadge a car that you are looking to trade/sell.
And, you probably know, that most folks here (US) would rather be driving a Skyline than a G35 due to it's connection with auto history.
I look at my G35 as a rebadged Skyline....especially since it has Nissan stamped/printed on it more that Infiniti.

Infiniti's sell here for almost $100k (don't ask, even though the $AU is worth more than the $US). It's more a psychological thing - Infiniti is far more premium where-as Nissan is well, Nissan. Also, Skylines in AU are a dime a dozen, they are everywhere (mainly R34-R31, V35/V36 are way rarer) and are generally considered a 'bogan' car and totally riced out.

I won't be doing it unless I can get an Infiniti nav but after some research that looks like it's going to be fairly difficult.

Wow...I'm going to send a shipload of Infinitis your way and you load the containers back up with Skylines. We will both be rich.

You would probably need to replace the electronics to get it to display Infiniti. Find someone wanting to do a Skyline swap here and swap parts? Probably would have been easier to do 5+ years ago than now.
