Drive by wire uses an electrically operated servo (motor) to open and close the throttle, the "gas pedal" operates a variable switch, telling the computer how far to open the throttle. Direct ignition system is a solid-state ignition system, consisting of one coil per cylinder, activated by the camshaft position sensor. Your car is also equipped with NVVTS (Nissan Variable Valve Timing System), similar to Honda's V-TEC.
