First off going down the road say 45 mph, slam on breaks real hard to dodge a moron and theres a real loud slamming sound/thud from my brakes. Its non-abs 93 SE h/b. I have new brakes I need to put on but I'm lazy and haven't gotten to it. Think thats the only problem?

Next, if i take off from a dead stop (floor it, perhaps racing someone) it seems to take off fine but if the road is very bumpy and i hit a bad bump with my rear tires it seems to lose power breifly and kind of jerk to one side, I've been considering new subframe bushings in the back as a solution but could it be anything else while i'm back there?

Third, I have a leak somewhere on the back end. I thought it was the spoiler (it was loose on the passenger side and the water was coming in on that side of the car) so I took the spoiler off and filled the holes with silicone, the wholes are completely covered and sealed but I recently found another two gallons of water in my spare tire well under my subs/amp and thats just not comforting. I suspect it could be the weather stripping and I'm looking into that but it may also be the bottom piece of trim at the bottom of the window, anyone have suggestions?

Fourth, I have reverse-indiglo guages (Oooh! Ain't I cool). Anyway, at any given time (Stereo off even) I can push my brake pedal and at the instant the brake lights come on my guages flash, and now without the stereo in I have noticed that my a/c (heater actually) also slows down (the fan) noticeably.

Also when I use my windshield wipers there is a squeaking noise (sounds like wet rubber rubbing metal or plastic and no its not the blades it doesn't with the arms pointing out) coming from the middle of the car, it can be heard inside and out and I suspect its something to do with the passenger side arm rubbing something, any one had similar problems?

Soo many little problems. There is also some sort of black plastic (about 1/8-1/4" thick where the carpet ends in the passenger floorboard which is breaking off and falling into the floor board randomly, I can't figure out exactly what it is.

When sitting at a stoplight or in a parking lot with the car running there is a timed tremble (approx every second and a half) in the whole car, most noticable in the gearshift and steering wheel). The steering wheel also shakes constantly at idle when sitting still (so its not tires/rotors/brakes). Any ideas?

Lastly, Has anyone installed the JDM S13 Digital Climate Control into a USDM S13?

There is many more, I'll think of them later. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Oh, and in relation to the tremble, it has recently had a tune-up, new plugs/wires, and new distributor and ignition rotor(?).

1) Sounds like a bad bushing somewhere or something is loosening up.2)How old are your struts? Also, I think this may have something to do with wheelhop and maybe someone else can help you with that aspect of it.3)Check the seal around the tail lights.4) sounds like a possible bad ground. Electrical problems suck to fix and this will not be any different.5) The plastic breaking off sounds like some of the insulating material on the firewall. It is pretty much like you described.

about the windshield wipers. my mom's stanza and my 240sx have the same problem they use the same wiper assembly. the problem is with the pivot, it has a plastic bushing in which the metal rotates in and after yaers of use it wears away and gets oval which will cause the squeak. the bushings on my moms are so bad that the wiper arm is actually able to move about 1/2 inch in each direction with the pressure from the spring it actually buckles up and hits the hood. I phoned around and its like 100 bucks cdn for the part from nissan and 150 from a scrap yard cause they want to sell the whole assembly. mine isn't to bad right now so I just spray some lube down at the bottom of the arm and it seems to go away for a month or so before i have to do it again. my cars got 160,000 km my mom's car got 250,000 km

Another thing, anyone considered removing that black plastic stuff from beneath the engine area?

That cheap black (ABS?) plastic stuff has come off from the bottom of my engine on the drivers side and is coming unbolted from the drivers side wheel well. Should i be concerned about replacing it with something?

Wow, didn't realize this many people had the problem with the plastic stuff around the wheel wells, and below the engine. Started to come off my car on the Saw Mill . . . last idiot that had owned/worked on the car had forgot to put some bolts back on I guess. :-( I'd like to replace it, but I'm not positive if it's interchangable with the S13's from 89-90, and the 91+ models. Anyone know?

i took off the splash sheild under the engine...

while on the car it makes oil changing a big hassle, and u cant do any front suspension work with it on there, and also it likes to rip easily and flop around...stupid thing.

1) Bushings. Check TC rods, front control arms, etc. 2) When you hit a bump a wheel hops off the road, your engine revs up, when it plants back down you feel like you got launched forward. Think about it. Wheel hops up, feels like I'm goign slower, wheel plants back down and catches, feels like I go faster. If you want to stop it get the things that plant you to the ground better, faster, flatter.3) The water is likely coming from the rubber weatherstripping in the back, my S13 fastback's leaks like a mofo. A good way to combat this is to buy some silicone spray, as it will expand those seals. I think autozone may even sell a spray specifically for that purpose. 4) Check all your fuses and wiring connections. Could be a previous owner jerry-rigged some wires back there, behind the pedals is a very convenient place to run wires if you are so inclined. 5) The squeaking is likely the wiper hinges or the motor. Give them all a good blast of WD40 or any silicone lubricant, should quiet it right up. Also, wiper blades have a small steel belt running down the center, previous owner of my car let them wear down so far they wore a groove straight into my windshield. 6) The plastic is Nissan sound deadening/heat blocker. It cracks and breaks with age. I removed ALL of mine when putting in Dynamat. Dont' worry about it, if it bugs you get in there and tear it out, if not, don't worry about it. 7) The tremble is a slightly rough idle. We all have it. You can clean and adjust and tune all day long, might fix it, might not. It could be any of a hundred things. Start out with giving the TB and intake pleanum solid cleanings. Next it's on to tune-up land. Could also be that your motor and transmission mounts are shot to ****. 8) JDM climate control won't work in a USD car.

The splash geard thing on the bottom of my car is off, and then the front plastic wheel well insert actually came off in the middle of the road, and as i was walking out to get it a frickin dodge neon drove directly over it and ****ed it all up, but im not too worried about it. With the splash shield off its way way easier to work on the bottom of the engine, and I havent really noticed any extra cleaning associated with it.

I recently had a similar leak in my fastback. It was the tail lamp seals. They're butyl rubber and over time they tend to break down and develop leaks. You can repair it yourself, it's not expensive...there's actually a walkthrough on how to do it on 240sx.org. After I took the lamps off and applied a new seal, no more leaks!

FOr the tremble, it could be engine mounts?
