ok, i went to change my rear pads and i cant get my calliper to compress. is there a special trick i should know about, or am i just screwed and should go buy ne callipers?

turn the notch thing with needlenose pliers

will they just spin in and should i turn in counter clock wise or clock wise.

Yeah. Rightey-tighty, lefty loosey. Doesn't require much force. Any large enough pliers or needlenose will do the trick. I suggest getting an fsm for this.
