So I'm getting my intercooler piping on the hot side and the turbo inlet setup finally. After a year of downtime, I may get to start up the car tonight (hooray for me). But with my t3 setup, the piping is getting a little cramped. So here's a few questions.

1. I know the bov is supposed to be placed a minimum of 12" away from the throttle body. Does this apply to the maf also? Does it have to be placed a minimum of 12" from the turbo, or can I get away with like....11"?

2. I have TONS of space inbetween the radiator and pulleys. If I were to route the intake pipe of the turbo down between there and set the filter right above where the power brace(lack of the proper term) is, would this create any potential problems?

1) for bov, you should be fine as long as you have some straight (less turbulent) piping before and after, just to be safe. Actual location will vary - some ppl have better luck w/ it right in front, some like it by the intercooler, some like it on the hot pipe. The maf, "should" be at least 8" from turbo, but a lot of ppl (including jgs), run it directly in front of the turbo w/ a coupler - this being the ka24det setup they had.

2) potential problems... hmmm, an air filter and/or maf sitting rite after a fan and in front of pulleys/belts spinning at 1k-5k rpms... hit a bump, have something loose... snap crackle pop? Common sense should prevail on this one.

For the MAF that 11" should is ok its not close enough to the turbo to cause turbulance.

As for the space between the radiator and pulley I wouldnt do it. God forbid if something happened it might hit your belts and chop them. Also that area still has heat and you want to get cool air its better to route the intake pipe near stock location or in the driver side passenger fender area.

Thanks for the quick reply. I understand that's a possibility, but the pipe is bracketed down overall feels solid. I just wasn't sure what kind of air temps I would be seeing, which somebody else just answered.
