The 09 Maxima, does it not look a lot like a G from the front and like a Camry from the back?

And the interior, add the Infiniti clock and viola, you have a G

Isn't the Maxima about the same size as a M35/M45?

It does look sweet! Noticed a lot of Nissan is getting Infiniti parts!

Looks more like a Honda Accord Coupe! Seems to have a lot of Infiniti interior styling. Nonentheless, Nissan/Infiniti understands body design. This car is sweet. Any data on its performance?

Yep, looks like a G. But you can't blame the parent company from stealing some styling queues off of the great design the G is!

I didn't think so until I parked my G where the Max had parked. The G was a full 7 inches shorter than the G, 2 inches narrower and 1 inch lower in height. In fact, when we park the Altima next to it, the Altima is longer.

So I'd guess that the M and the Max are pretty close.

On close observation, the redline on the tach is at 6500. That means the VQ35HR is not in that car. My guess would be a 3.5 with 260+/- HP, FWD or AWD and a CVT. (The M has 275, so I doubt it will be more than that)

I've got to admit, Nissan has a winner here.

dont know it looks cheap IMO something about the tails and the headlights... and the grille.... it doesnt blend well........ everything looks chooped up and smaller than the G or the M u get what I mean... they want to follow the style but make it diff so the looped a traigualr part off the edges LOL makes it look.... weird.

The inside of this max does look alot similar to the M45. Hopefully it will be a complete rebirth of the 4DSC instead of the luxury family sedan it has become.

I thought the redesign of the Infiniti line a few years back was to move away from having the reputation of rebadged Nissans. Yeah?

The new Maxima, not so much.

It seems that once a car manufacturer comes out with a design that really works, (the G35 coupe for example), not only do other car makers follow up with a similar design, (compare the Scion TC body lines with the G35 coupe, or the 2003ish Mitsubishi Galant with the same year 3 series BMWs sometime), but then they carry the same design over to other models as well. (G35/ Altima/ Maxima). There seems to be far less creativity involved in car making, except at the concept car level. If someone finds something that works from a marketing/aesthetics perspective, many companies get in line like so many sheep. I think that the beginning of that trend may just have been with the 1967 Firebird, which took it's body tooling straight from the Camaro.

I like it. i think it is looks smart. My only question would have to do with the CVT transmission. What is the word on that transmission?

My Max had things that my G doesn't have that I liked, like the heated steering wheel. On a really cold day, it is nice holding a heated wheel.

The new design is something Nissan calls "Liquid Motion". It's dynamic, for sure, with peaks and valleys among flowing lines and sharp creases that combine to form a muscular shape.

the venerable 3.5L VQ V6 in both the S and SV models, now producing 290 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque. Apparently the Maxima still isn't premium enough for the best V6 in the parts bin (the new 3.7L to be specific), but the 3.5L makes 35 more horsepower in this iteration than it did in the last-gen Maxima. Those who like to keep their right foot busy, however, will be disappointed, as a new version of Nissan's Xtronic CVT is the only transmission offered. Paddle shifters, however, will be available, and a new Ds (drive sport) mode will be present.

Wow thats a dramatic body change, i like it more then the old look, but it looks to much like a G, can't they be more creative and think of something else, but overall I say its a winner, depending on price as well tho

However this maxima looks, the G-35 Coupe will forever be a standard of auto beauty---a head turner extraordinaire!
