I drove the Turbo Q down to Atlanta and left it at my Mom's house. This car was over there so I drove it back to Oregon. Now, I miss the boost. LOL.elwesso wrote:looks like a really nice compliment to a black boosted Q
I looked all over for this combination. Finally, I found one and had to fly out to Cali to pick this car up but it was worth it since it is a hard to come by color. It's Silver Amethyst Pearl which has a touch of violet in it. I thought it was silver when I first saw the car on Autotrader.Rex wrote:Silver with black leather, a combo I always wanted ... maybe some day.
Looks to be in good cosmetic condition and I trust you know how to determine or get it in good mechanical condition.
Thanks for the props. The wheels are TSW Pace in 18x8 and the tires are Nexen 255/45-18. Overall height is about 1 inch taller than stock so I installed some rubber spacers in the springs to get some clearance for the tires. An added benefit is that the springs became stiffer so the handling improved. I also installed polyurethane end link bushings for the rear sway bar. The ride is not too stiff but it corners pretty good.qship96 wrote:Looks GREAT!!!!What wheels/tires are you running? Is the car stock or have you modified suspension, etc?
It was a Mustang Dyno that was at Lincoln Technical Institute. I was there finishing up some classes and they let us run our cars on the dyno. The temps were in the 50s and I had Castrol 0w-30 Syntec and 93 octane in the car.maxnix wrote:That's good because the Nexen are pretty hard if I recall. Mustang dynamometer? OR pump gas?
I don't understand what the dark area is between your low beams and indicator lamps.
Nice car.
I see that you are a very smart customer with using the Nexen tires Usually, people complain about these tires and heck, they never drove on ANY of them. I have these tires in 255/35/20. They are by far the BEST bang for the buck! The 340 treadwear rating is durable and soft enough Maxnix enough so they won't wear as fast as the horrible soft 280 treadwear rating tires.sijoko wrote:Thanks for the props. Not to side track the thread, but the Pilot Sport A/S (400) isn't the tire ost go bonkers over, it's the Pilot Sport (220). And as mentioned before tread ware ratings can't really be directly compared from one tire manufacturer to another, though can be useful for "rough" comparisons.NightRiderQ45 wrote: Michelin Pilot Sport tire A/S...the tire that most people go bonkers over, but the tire ratings are UTQG Ratings Tread Wear 400 Traction A Temperature.
Yeah, don't want to side track the thread but it depends on what crowd you are speaking of. Guys that want 20" tires, it's usally the Pilot Sport A/S...but if you are into the 18"s or 19", people tend to go towards the Pilot Sport 220 because they make a lot of sizes in that tire. I deal with more people who wants 20" on their car...so that is the tire I hear about more...even though I won't purchase them because they cost wayyyyy to much.Rex wrote:

Yeah, it's mostly original paint except for the bumper covers, both of which have been resprayed. I want to strip them down and re-do them if I get the chance. I already bought the paint in anticipation of the project but still haven't found the time.lino wrote:Looks super clean! I can't believe it has 203k. Is it original paint? Your interior looks like non one ever sat in it.
I was a bit hesitant on going with the NEXEN tires but I figured for the money I couldn't go wrong. My favorite tires were KUMHOs because of their value vs. performance. Now, I think I like the NEXENs better. They do not ride hard at all. They have a relatively soft sidewall so I don't feel like I'm riding around on 18s. I got 4 tires from Ebay for around $440 shipped. If I could have found a local dealer it would have been good, also.NightRiderQ45 wrote:

I completely agree, but it's not just amongst Q45's. As it was explained once (IIRC), the process to create a lighter color leather is "harsher" (is that a word??). If you look at mid-90's Lexus SC's you'll see a similar situation - lighter colored leather interiors showing lots of wear and the black leather looking good.sijoko wrote: ... For some reason, the black leather on the G50s wear much better than the other colors. My 94 with the tan seats is not in such good shape and I did my best to condition and protect the leather.
It looks to be one of the Wheelskins. You stitch it on yourself. $45-50 IIRC, but I hear it takes a couple of hours to get the stitching right. I forget who's Q it was, but they had a sweet setup and it looked like the stitching on a baseball.mattd1979 wrote:I like the steering wheel cover. Do you know where I could get one of those?
Yep....as HK stated, Wheelskins is the company that makes it. I had actually bought the cover for another car but never installed it. After I bought the Q, I found it amongst my stuff and figured I'd try it out. It came out very nice. No regrets but you need to set aside least 1 hour to stitch it on properly. In my case, it was more like 2 hours.mattd1979 wrote:I like the steering wheel cover. Do you know where I could get one of those?
