turbo dodge guy here
thought id chime in on this one... VW motors would be way hard to get into an omni, it would take a hell of alot of custom mounts and the trans is on oposite sides i belive... youd be a hell of alot better off just swapping in a turbo motor from a daytona, a spirit turbo, hell even a turbo 3 motor from a spirit r/t or daytona iroc r/t.... if youre acctually serious about swapping a motor into an omni i suggest getting an omni, going to a junkyard, find a 1989 and up turbo motor from a spirit, minivan, daytona, whatever.. swapping it in in a weekend, couple wiring harness changes, put a home made manual boost controller on it and a probe intercooler or whatever you can find for cheap, and youll have a low 13 second car with maybe 700 dollars max... bored. so i thought id share the wonderful thing that is turbo dodges... BTW, turbo dodge motors are NOT mitsu engines, designed and built in the US
