I want to try the elevator one as well. The Post-it note while drilling one is just brilliant.

the elevator one was meant for emergency personnel, not for people to be a** hats and keep an elevator all to themselves.

As a service professional, I use the elevator trick all the time because of all the equipment I have to bring with me as well as because of being on the clock. You see, sometimes buildings don't have a freight elevator and it is necessary. Also, if the elevator is already full of people, why waste time stopping at other floors when you can just go straight to the lobby to unload?

So you see it does have acceptable uses other than for just emergency personnel. Provided it is used in line with it's intentions, of course.

And post-it notes don't really work all that well for the wall/drill thing. We use a very small box, flatten the flap that will be on the wall and use some painter's tape to attach the flap to the wall.
