Yesterday i put vp 110 in and tested high boost on the street. still had my wheelhop problem most of the time. I put on the drag radials and drove to the track hoping it would be fine. I boosted past the track to find the same problem but then it seemed more like the clutch was slipping. dissapointed i turned around to go home and boosted again and it held, even tho i did notice the rpms go up and down a little. nothing special happened at the track , normal stuff like my "wheelhop".

i get to the dyno and strapped down. i let off the first run because of my hopping. car got strapped down better and i went again. the owner said there was no wheelhop, but i felt the vibrations inside the car.

we checked out a few things and found that my mph actually dropped from my last time at the dyno with less power. at 4000rpms is was around 88mph then shoot up to 6000rpms way too fast but mph didnt increase any. this show something is slipping.

possibly my clutch since i have had it close for 15k miles and the CM stg 5 is advertised not to last that long.

anyone think my differencial (stock 140+k miles) could jsut slip like that? im thinking more the clutch.

this they think could be sending the shudder throughout the car.

geoman has some video, makes my car looks bad because comeing down they guys dirt driveway my bumper hit a dip and cracked where i had ffibgerglassed it.

shame i put those solid bushings in and it wasnt my problem, they will help later on though im sure

Interesting...sucks man. I guess it could be either one, clutch or diff. What LSD are you running, as your ka-t.org profile doesn't say?

The clutch wouldn't surprise me, because you have as many miles on it as you do. Although you'd think it slip first. I guess it could just be grabbing and letting go, if certain pucks held better than others as it rotated?

i just have the stock vlsd with 140+k miles

when it was holding yesterday on the street at 20psi it would seem to shoot right up to lets say 4800 pause go to 450 then up to maybe 5500 pause go to rediline

VLSD CANNOT slip...it may stop working, but this wold not show up on a dyno.

Dead [VLSD / clutch LSD / 1-way / 2-way / whatever] would send 100% of your power through one wheel...and since the dyno roller connects both, it would make ZERO difference in power.

Has to be your clutch...

Good power at 4000, though...impressive!

Congrats!

i love to see the exponential curve of your dyno graph. warms my heart. lol.

and yes, sounds like the clutch would be the number one culprit since im sure u dont shift at 3000 rpms everyday. lol. congrats.

wow you made 420 lb ft of tq already. i'm sure your hp will either match or come close to your tq numbers like you always said it would.

hopefully with your clutch problem solved, you'll be in the 400whp club too.

wow, thats a crazy looking graph. it almost looks like the turbo isnt done spooling since tq hasnt even begun to level off. what kinda numbers are you expecting once the slipping problem is fixed?

yea i was definitly happy to see 420tq at almost 4200rpms. ii might hit 430 or so, my old dyno torque peaked at 4500rpms, might peak slightly later now with s13 cams but not much

i would really like to get the horsepower up in that area.

i didnt do too much tuning with the safc since the slipping problem wouldnt allow for a decent pull. they were mostly in the 11's tho. once i can get a good pull and get them into the 12's with race gas im sure ill see the numbers i want

lol, I bet that thing is BRUTAL (terrible) in the rain. All of a sudden 3200 rpm comes around and BAM, sideways haha, but some people like that.

What turbo are you running?

What solid bushings did you install? To truly eliminate all the slope you'd need them in the subframe, diff mounts, RUCAs, RLCAs, toe rods, and traction rods. There are a lot of crappy rubber bushings back there That's one are where nissan really "detuned" the 240 for daily use-bushing compliance.

The aluminum bushings are from SPL.
