Ok, ME and my friend were driving through alabama to pick up his new mr2 (91 with 64k origional miles!) and we are cruisin along and this mustang 5.0 flies up next to me reving its engine, so of course I drop it into 2nd and pull ahead...then i hear him drop gears and he catches up lookin at me all wierd...so we pull up to a light and it turns green. I Take off getting a much better start than him...and he sees that i get a better start then him and lets off the throttle...so Im like..."hey I Win...haha" . We Pull up to the next light and I roll down my window to be polite and talk to him about his car. He all the sudden starts yellin at me saying "whats ur problem??" I said, "Nuthin, what do you have done to your mustang, I like it." And he said, "Well Good for you..." and sped off in the other direction.

You know, I was just trying to be friendly and the ****in domestic owners wont give you the time of day whether you beat them or not. Just thought I would see any experiences or encounters that you all have had with these a$$holes

Oh, and I might add that I saw a 300zx with a 350 small block in it????? WTF?? It must be an Alabama thing...

Are you swapped yet? That Rustang would've had to been sick to not be able to beat you with the KA. I agree though, a lot of 5.0 drivers are chuckleheads, but not all of them.

I would call that a pretty good idea. Better than a VG.

'69 Camaro? Lucky basturd. Mine was an '83 Escort, but I was just happy to have a car. Growing up, my dad had a '69 Yenko Camaro. I thought they called it a "Yenko" because it yanked your neck every time you rode in it! Hehe. 427's are cool.

I sold a cherry '72 Camaro RS with a 406 SBC and bought my 240 amongst other things. When I get a scanner, I'll post up pics.

i guarantee the original VG in that Z was a NA. Those are a pain to work with and it costs lots of green to get something out of it. I've heard of the 350 and it sounds pretty sweet to me.`

yeah repo man, i miss that car, it was ugly as sin (no interior, primered gray) but i sure was fast (11.98 et, 1/4 mile). gas mileage was hell in that thing. i would like to see a 350 stuffed into a 300z, there is no room in that thing with the VG, you have to practically pull the motor to do just about anything. I was at the drag strip once, and in the staging lanes next to me was a guy with an orange miata was , he fired up his car and it sounded all muscle. i went over and asked him what the hell he had under his hood, he smiled and said "LT1". i didnt see what he ran, but im sure it was unreal.

Yep. That's the "Monster Miata". I'm sure he was quick if he could get it to hook up.

The 300Z would be a biiiiiiiitch to work on, no doubt.

There is something to be said for a primered car that will spank a Viper!

yup! never actually raced one though. i did race a ferrari 348 ts, it was a frineds of mine whos dad had it as his toy, needless to say he was very well off (he lived down the street from where barry bonds lived in the offseason). anyway, i smoked him in acceleration, but couldnt hang in the twisties. i had another friend who had a 66 mustang, fully restored, but only had a I6, thats were my hate for mustangs came from. eh would get all pissed cause everywhere we went i would smoke him off of every stop, and all the rest of our friends cracked jokes, and he took things much too seriously.

The "Monster Miata" (copyrighted name) does NOT have an LT1. Matter of fact, I've never seen a Miata transplanted with anything but a 5.0 (but then again I don't get out much anymore....)

Either way, it's bad as hell.

I didn't realize that was a copyright. It is the 302. But a Miata with an LT1 WOULD be a monster!

Well he told me it was an LT1, i didnt vervify it. either way, 5.0, LT1, still a lot of motor for a little *** miata. Where does this "monster miata" guy live? i was at a drag strip in south carolina. I should have asked to see it, could have crossed that off the "things to see before i die" list....

I never said I beat the 5.0, I just took off faster than him, and when he realized i got a WAY better start than him he let off the throttle...He must not of known much about 240's, cause he seemed kind of timid to race me.

Damn, I gotta say I love domestics, nothing quite like the roar of a muscle car, almost makes me wish I knew something about them. I know a lot of arrogant high school kids with mustangs and camaros who talk smack to imports around here, most of which could rape them, kind of like our rice boys. Its always the older guys with the really nice cars that'll sit down and have an intelligent discussion with you about cars, one of my customers has like a 700hp z28, that thing was just monstrous. But still, he was cool, and asked me what I did to my cars. I don't care what anyone says, tricked out domestics are hot.
