Wouldn't you love being escorted around in one of these.. Convert the passanger seat to your very own foot rest :)

This one is kind of warrior.. It would be nice to have some sunshades/curtains like this..

I wish we had power sunshades.. I'd definetely cough up some loot for that option..

Awesome...

Notice how they both have the early Q wheelwell treatment... The grille is SO gorgeous. What a timeless design.

I want a set of those mirrors/B-pillar trims SO damn bad. :(

I think the price is fair. $250 for the complete set (driver/passenger)

125 a side basically.. Not sure on the shipping.. I'm about to get the invoice for my JDM stuff, I don't think the shipping will be too bad..

USPS Global EMS is a bargain compared to other methods..

AZ,

What do you mean by the early wheelwell treatment? Was there a difference between the 90-93/94-96 wheelwells?

Yes.

Take a look, the shape is very different... The 90-93 has more cutlines and sculpting, the 94-96 is plainer and cleaner.

You paid $250 for what? And what are you gonna put them on? Not the new Q???

Didn't order the pillars :(

I meant I think the price is fair for the pillars, and I don't think the shipping would be too bad.. basically I'm saying I think the price is worth it for what you get..

Depends on the kind of person you are.. I tend to look at what I get, not how much I pay.. If you look at it the other way, it may be hard to justify the price of those pillars.. However I think they represent an excellent value..

Regarding the body differences between first/second gens.. I also noticed the underbody used to be a different color then the body.. IE if you had a maroon first gen the underpart would be black.. not exactly a two tone combo, but you could see the difference.. My 94 is painted the same as the rest of the body..

Not sure if it was like this on all first gen paint styles, but I have noticed it on some.

90-93s were CLEAN...

Wes should post a pic of the yahoo JDM auctions for the pillars..Here is a link

http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co...32299

They show a nice side shot of a black Q with the chrome pillars and mirrors..

I want the pillars, but I'm not sure how great they would look on a maroon Q...

I simply love the way the chrome pillars and mirrors look on a black Q45.. Black and chrome make a nice combo.. I'm not sure about maroon and chrome..

I want a black Q just for those chrome pillars and chrome mirrors...

your the picture linking KING

argh.. makes me want a black soooo bad.. I love black anyway, but the pillars and mirrors put it over the top...

I think the pillars are must have for any 94+ owner.. Since they loaded the car up with chrome, it makes sense to get the pillars to complete the package..

Damn babelfish.. can't translate directly any more..

Looks like this is for chrome door jams... although it could be for something else..

The latter looks like it's for the complete right door assembly.

Greg, correct me if I'm wrong but couldn't you/we make the chrome pillars relatively easily? They don't look complex in the least, though I'm unsure on how the secure onto the car.

So you take a piece of 20-24 gauge steel sheetmetal, cut the pillar out, round the edges, then have 20-30 of those cut-outs chrome plated. The most expensive part of this is the chrome plating which shouldn't even be that much if you get a lot of pieces done at the same time.

If someone is able to give me the exact height and width (at both the bottom and top of the pillar) as well as tell me how rounded the piece would need to be (from top to the bottom of the pillar). I may be able to get everything done up to the chrome plating part... anywho, just an idea to play with for now.

Gotta jet.

Corey -

I had actually done some research on having the plastic pieces chrome electroplated.

When I was restoring my 68 Gran Sport I had a lot of the interior plastic trim re-plated... Back then (1988-90) it was hard to find and expensive as all hell.

The quote I got for our B-pillars was $180. Doesn't quite seem right to me. I'll keep searching (or someone else can)....

The gutters are over the top, and probably noisy as hell at speed.

Personally, I think that Infiniti got it right with the black pillar trim. The bright metal work is too GM.

Greg,

My initial estimates are much, much lower than that. I will be in touch more with the machine shop over the next couple days.

I could only guesstimate the size though... something around 16" high, 2.5" wide at the base and 1" wide at the top. I still need to know the curvature however. We also need to figure out how these pieces will be mounted. I'm not sure what the best way would be.

On a side note, I'd take the measurements myself but I'm unfortunately 1500 miles away from my car :S .

Thanks.

BTW, the machine shop will also be able to chrome plate these pieces for us. I'll have to talk with them about having these pieces bent however.

While I'm at it, any special requests, suggestions and/or comments?
