Ok, so timing rb's sucks..heh. I did finally find in the rb20E manual there is a small line that says "rb20det auto. 2wd set timing at 650 rpms"

SO, I set my idle to 650, check my timing.

At the loop and coilpack are exactly the same, mine was at 25 degrees from the factory (could see where the tape was), it is an automatic ecu, but the car is manual. The car is fast, but I don't know, seems odd. I set my timing to 21 degrees at 650 rpms, reset the ecu, and the car felt just as fast afterward...need a dyno to be sure though.

Anyway, that's just my little tidbits of info for the night..any thoughts welcome.

Thanks for clearing up that loop vs. coilpack timing issue with some real, live testing. Now I just need to get a timing light....

MY CAR RAN BEST AT 25 DEGREES..... BUT I COULDN'T GET MY IDLE LOWER THAN 900RPMS.

Yeah, my car ran fast at the 25 degrees it was set at, and the CAS is set to about the middle of its range at 25. If I set it to 15, it seems like its turned a bit to one side of the range of it and the car feels a bit slower....so that's why it is at 21 degrees.

THe timing maps I have loaded are from an eprom burning site, and I don't know if they're manual or auto, but I haven't changed them much, and with my timing at 21 degrees base, under full boost it is about 16 degrees total timing.
