Hopefully someone could help me with this. My friend has a 1991 Maxima. She took it in to get the tires rotated earlier today. She said after rotating the tires the car started pulling hard to the right. She took it back to get it aligned and they told her that an alignment wouldn't help. They said that she needed to replace the front right lower control arm and both rear trailing arms. They also told her she should just get a new car. I had a chance to see the car for myself yet. They want to charge her $900 just in parts. Could it be something even simpler like maybe just bushings and ball joints?

It could be a lot of different things. It could be what the mechanic says, could be what you said. I would try and take it to another mechanic and see what he has to say. If both diagnose the same things, then take the best bid that is offered.

Rotate the front tires right to left and left to right and see if it pulls to left. If so, it's the tires. Abnormal tire wear can cause a nasty pull just as much as a vehicle out of alignment.
