So I just got my coupe on Saturday, and I've already noticed a few strange things... are these normal? (keep in mind that the car has only 440 miles on it):

-engine "stutter" when idling/driving at low speeds (not a HUGE stutter, but noticable)-engine seems pretty loud, sounds like it's struggling almost at times when accelerating-an odd "clank" noise within the first few seconds of driving (occurs everytime I drive the car, happens 2 or 3 times, with a few seconds between each sound)-a clicking noise (only happened once. I think it might be an issue that's been discussed here before)-brakes seem good, but not incredible-rust on the exhaust

Maybe I'm just being nit-picky, but when you buy a brand new car you expect everything to be perfect... some of these things I thought might have to do with the car not being broke-in yet. Either way, it should all be covered under warranty, but I wanted to know if I should wait until it's got a few more miles on it before I worry.

My engine purrs beautifully...I'd look into a stuttering idle. The clank is the ABS system check...It's normal. My brakes grab with authority.

Rust is stupid....easy to clean up though.

I have had my car for almost a week and I've had no clicking, clunking, clanking or stuttering.

A lot of these items have been talked about a lot...like the ABS clunk. Search a bit more and I'm sure you'll find some threads with related posts.

your engine sounds loud? i think its normal, ive heard it told that the QR is a loud engine, i cant remember too well if mine ever was, but i seem to remember it being pretty loud for a I4. you should be fine. as for the rust, get yourself a cat back. rust gone. (thats what i'd do)

Haha, I'd like to get the Catback, but I can't really afford it... plus I didn't really buy the car to fix it up too much (if I wanted to do that I would have gotten the 3.5 :D). I'm thinking some new wheels and tires and some decent window tint will be enough for me. Thanks for letting me know about the ABS!

the clicking noise - is most likely a loose cotter pin on the hub assembly, it will eventually drive you nuts, I promise.

My only regret now is that I didn't get the super black.... I really wanted it, but all they had was white and silver. I was also a bit upset at myself for not getting the premium package, but after seeing what you got for the extra $3,200 I deemed it not worth the cost. To me, the convenience package sound system is pretty good (although the lack of a basic MP3 cd player was LAME), and heated leather seats are just a tad overrated. (Sorry, sometimes I have to reassure myself that I made a good decision, haha)
