I finally got around to hooking up the air hose that leads to the idle control bits (AAC, FICD, etc.) today and now my car idles at around 1500-2000 unless I pull the gas pedal up. The AFR looks good when it idles like this, but as soon as I pull up on the pedal and the idle drops to normal, it leans out really bad. It is hooked up to the intake post-AFM pre-turbo. I've read that this is due to the idle bits sticking open. I tried putting my thumb over the end of the hose to prevent it from getting air and it evened out the idle and AFR. Is it alright to do that?
Also, when driving it today, I made a hard pull (to about 6.5-7k along a straight bit of road. The oil pressure spiked to at least 100psi and I got a good plume of blue-ish smoke from the exhaust (oil being burnt). As soon as the throttle was released, the pressure dropped back down to a healthy 75ish and the smoke stopped. What would cause this and how would I best fix it?
