I recently installed lowering springs (Espelirs, very happy with them) which gave me a 1.5" drop in front, 1.25" in rear.
I ordered a nice set of Fabulous Profounds from Memoryfab (very cool people). Front is 18x8 +42, rear is 18x9 +36. Was planning on running them with Toyo Proxes T1R's (235/50 or 45). Unfortunately I did the math after I ordered them and not sure they will work. I have posted the offset and tire upsize calculations below. Can someone familiar with the 97 Q45 tell me if I can make these work? Stock is 16x7 +40. My fear is not so much wheel well clearance (although I think max I can safely get away with in profile would be 45 which is not exactly my first choice living in NYC), but more inner clearance to strut and shock housings/springs...
Front (18x8 et 42)
Inner Clearance: 15mm LESS clearance to strut housing (about 5/8")
Outer Position: EXTEND extra 11mm (about 7/16")
Using 45 profile tire diameter goes from 26.15" to 26.32
Using 50 profile tire diameter goes from 26.15 to 27.25
Rear (18x9 et 36)
Inner Clearance: 21mm Less clearance to shock housing (about 7/8")
Outer Position: EXTEND extra 29mm (about 1 1/8")
Using 45 profile tire diameter goes from 26.15" to 26.32
Using 50 profile tire diameter goes from 26.15 to 27.25
They don't ship until this coming Monday, so I think I still have time to switch or cancel my order (I'd hate to cancel, they're beautiful rims and I've been looking for a while to find good rims (these are three piece forged and beautiful), but by the same token if I can't make them work I can't make them work)...
Any help, opinions and education you can lend me would be helpful. Thanks.
