I have received some great advice in here in the past and it prevented me from jumping into buying one on haste. Id liketo thank everybody for that. It prompted me to do a good bit of research. I am still looking for a qx4 or a pathy within 7500 bucks. I am, as usual having trouble finding them within that budget with less than 100k miles. The following are some of the buying options I have right now....Would really appreciate it if anybody could take a look at the links and let me know what you think.

1) http://www.pradoautosales.com/....html

The above qx4 sounds good. The dealership is very good but the free carfax does not make much sense to me. THe miles are a little too low. The price is too low for those miles based on my research the last couple of months. Would appreciate it if someone looks and lets me know if its okay.

2) http://www.maroone.com/index.c...hList

THe above is good as well but I am wondering if the miles are too many keeping in mind the resale value in say 2013 or 14.

3) http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/...false

THe above is a pathy. I like this one but am again thinking its a little too many miles. I think the infiniti 1x4 would hold its resale value better than a pathy and hence id prefer lesser miles if its a pathy.

Thanks for your help. [URL]

I looked at the two QX4's, and while the one looks like it is purple, it says the exterior is "gold". The thing that is odd about both of them is that they say they are two wheel drive. I didn't see the 4wheel drive buttons on the one with pics of the inside. The other says it is a 4x2.

Guys, did Infiniti make a 2 wheel drive QX4?

Ugharin, if that is the case, and you want 4 wheel drive, watch out for this, it does affect the price. Given between the two, the "Gold" one is a much better price, and a year or two less miles. Doesn't appear to have the CD player or 6 disc changer though. That is a good option to have. The Burgundy car is very clean. Looks like it was well taken care of.

Remember, if you take care of it, you will get 10 more years out of this if you want to. Good luck, I'd look into them some more.

Yes, QX4 has 2WD version, and the 2WD-Auto-4Hi-4Lo switch is replaced by a coin tray. That is 2001 and 2002. I am not sure of other years.

its tough, but your gonna hard pressed to find a qx4 with < 100k for 7500 or under.

youll be able to find a pathy, no frills for around there, maybe a bit under --- but dont be expecting a mint vehicle with leather and 1 owner...

youll have to lower your expectations a little bit, or higher your ceiling price a little bit.

HI guys,Thanks for the replies. I too was under the impression that there were no 2WDs by infiniti Qx4s and just 4wd(or all wheel drives). Learnt later that they do. i understand that I should modify my critereon appropriately. However, I was actually told in my first post that its quite possible and thats why I am out looking for a <100k Q or pathy for around 7500. But i only have my fingers crossed and know that its gonna be hard.

Itd be great if the above Qx4s are really as good as they sound. The burgundy one is pretty good and I have been liking it. I am liking the other one (gold one without pics with a blue stock pic) even better cause its got way less miles. But thats also a cause for my worry. Especially since the mileage on the carfax is inconsistent. Did anyone get a chance to look at the free carfax report available in that page Id really appreciate it if someone does. As an example of an inconsistency, it says 14.5k miles / year have been driven. And for 8 years that'd turn out to be more than 110k miles. BUt the car only has 82k miles. So Im a little worried. BUt the dealership (Maroone) is one of the largest in this state, if not in this region or even the country. One ought to expect good vehicles from such large and established dealerships. No?

Also is there anything QX4 specific I should look for when checking it out? Esp w.r.t the engine, belts, suspension, leaks etc? Or is it just a typical used car check up and theres nothing specific to the QX4.

Im sorry about the hyperlinks in my first post. Im gonna correct them. Thanks for the help.

as far as the carfax record check --- i wouldnt worry too much about the mileage claim - it looks like its attributed solely to the first owner and im sure they are using some type of automatic prorated calculator which is taking values from date of purchase (or date of first documented mileage) to last date of documented mileage (for the first owner). if that makes any sense.

When u check it out just make sure the vin on the car matches the car fax vin.

also dont be too worried about minor mileage differences... i.e. 90k vs 105k --- when you get into those numbers its more a factor of which car was better taken care of --- id take 120k miles documented with service records, well kept and running like a dream before i would take 90k that has been neglected.

edit should also add that 4x2 (which i hadnt taken into account you were looking for) will obviously be cheaper than 4x4.
