From everything I've read, they don't help on the 350Z. It said the stock 350Z exhaust manifolds work so well that replacing them with headers does nothing except maybe change the sound. I don't know this for fact as I do not have headers. Just what I've read.

If anything you could try and find a "Up-rev Osiris" flash system, it allows Full control over the stock ecu. MY friend with the TT nismo has it and he has no problems with it. I'm thinking of getting it too.

As for cheap headers.

Yeah, i ordered my test pipes, Injen intake, cf hood and hatch (which I ended up selling both to someone) and cusco strut bar. They ship ridiculously fast too. Definitely recommend. A+

At the time they were about 700, each for the hood and hatch. Ended up selling them because in the end i couldnt make up my mind on rims and I wasn't able to paint them. It would have looked dumb to see a stock looking Z with unpainted CF everywhere.

It still intrigues me how stock my car looks, yet a good amount of dollars has been spent on it.

Please don't take the following reply as being an 'elitist' or a 'go big or go home' mentality. It's just experience having gone through stuff like this *dozens* of times.

Man, if I may offer a little advice, this is an area where you don't want an inexpensive part. Headers are a PITA to install on these cars, and *when* you get a stress crack at a weld, or a deformed flange and have to take the damned things off, or if they have a horrid resonance frequency that sounds like pinging because the gauge of the steel used is thin...you're going to be wishing you'd bought good ones to begin with.

I *detest* Schtealin' (Stillen) but their headers are ok (didn't they used to sell HotShot's?). I feel the DC sports are ok, too.

Budgetwise, a mild steel ceramic would work well.

For all motor max gains potential, stainless will hold heat better, improving scavenging.

If you're going to supercharge it, scavenging isn't as important, if at all.

If you're going to turbo it later, don't waste your money with either, as the turbo manifolds would replace them anyway.

Is HotShot still making headers? (Their site is for sale and JWT doesn't offer any headers on their site.)

I'd be interested to see what some of the other members like as well.

I bought and installed the DC Sports headers. It was an awful install, incredibly hard to do (with the engine still in place, on an elevator AND with the gearbox off).

Still, it was the "cheap" choice. The best headers I think are the all-titanium ones. I remember seeing them for way over $1000.

I bet they are, the jun ti headers for my friends s14 cost him $3,000. They weigh 30 grams.

If your going to spend that much, might as well get some BC 264 cams. Inexpensive, no valvetrain mods necessary, and decent power gains. That is assuming you have some of the basic bolt on modifications alread.

I heard Crawford makes a really good product as well. And you can combine it with their plenum and hi-flow cats.
