Well my week was going pretty good for a finals week. I did well on first final which was on monday. I had another one this morning. The teacher in this class first made a huge monologue about how greatful she was that she got to teach our class and blah..blah...blah....blahblah..... for like 1/2 hr. That 1/2 of my testing time you just wastedt ! it's not for your personal soap box monologue you attention whore!!!!

anyways she gets off her soap box and FINALLY hands out the final exam. Did it no problem. So as I am going over my final grade for the class, I see a blank space under an assignment box. I thinking "....wtf, no grade?" So I go over to the teacher and asked what was the deal, because I had turned in every assignment. the assignment wasn't just any petty homework assignment either, it was an interview worth 150 pts. So she says she doesn't have a grade for me because she doesn't remember ever having my interview. So the malignant **** has the audacity to tell me I have till Thursday to turn another one in. Mind you, that interview took me 2 weeks to get done.

Me: Umm how come I have a zero, whats the deal with that?

her: oh you have a zero, you must have not turned it in.

me: but I DID.

her: well I don't see it anywhere, looks like you'll have to do it again by Thursday.

me: .......That interview took me 2 weeks to get done, and you expect me to complete it in 2 days???????????

her: Yes, I am giving you an oppurtunity to do it again.

me: ...but, YOU LOST MY PAPER! DID YOU LOSE ANYONE ELSES BESIDES MINE?!

her: Well... i'm giving you the opportunity to do it again... or you can just accept the zero :grins:

me while walking out: whatever....... :mutters: whore

What bothers me the most about this is that if I do the assignment, its like I'm admitting I didn't do it in the 1st place. I hate that teacher, shes had it in for me since I questioned her race philosophy and had a point which was irrefutable [I got her to admit she wasn't mexican] so now I get to suffer. And Thursday is the day after finals, so I go back to school when eveyone else is gone. wtf....

I wold go talk to the dean or something. If you know you did that interview you need to talk to to someone who can take care of it. I wouldnt do another one if I could get someoneto help me out.

Ugh, my debate team coach was like that. We literally would get into shouting matches after school at least two or three times a week. She'd suspend me from tournaments over made-up bull****. We never agreed on which direction to take the team (I was team captain and had four times more experience). Thankfully she quit coaching debate. I like to think I wore her down and made her quit.

I loved the rest of my teachers though. They were devoted, patient, and very good at what they did. I wouldnt be who I am without them (though, some would say thats a reason to hate them )

hand written, wtf? i havent had anything hand written since 5th grade, that is dumb, if someone wanted to plagurize they could just get it off the net and then just copy it by hand, might take longer but still, wow

I didn't like most of my teachers/ professors either.

I always wondered if they could make it in a regular job environment? They sound great but who really cares if you learn about George Washington chopping down the cherry tree today or next week. Most teachers don't have a super strict time table like I have in my job. If I don't do my job my employees suffer and my customers suffer.

Here's an example of what I mean. My Mother was close friends with a woman who was married to the head of the Economics Dept at Indiana University. He was arrogant and a "know it all" type.

One day my little brother is reading the local newspaper and finds the professors name listed in an ad placed by the state of Indiana. The ad said he had a $3,000 refund due from the state he never claimed.

My brother called him and told him about it. The Prof collected the cash and didn't even say "Thanks" to my brother! No bonus $$ either.

He wasn't even good at his own Economics!

Just finish school, get your diploma, get the hell out of school and make some $$$. Then you can buy more cars and car parts!

I'd break into her office or house and find my paper.

Otherwise, talk to one of her superiors.

*defends teachers*

OK that teacher sucks, but inreference to the title of your thread, who taught those cops and politicians? Most teachers (not professors) break their backs to help their students learn. They spend money out of their own pocket when the school wont cover it. They spend hours grading and preparing assignments and lesson plans. And all of their students (except the ones that end up as asst manager of McDonalds) will make more money than them. Sounds like a good system?? Hell no!

*continue trashing this professor*

Ahh political correctness....don't you love it shoved in your face?

edit: I do know S15, I've been to private school all my life and the teachers there make squat. I've always been a defender of teachers, thinking that it's always the students fault. Well..till it happened to me.

I beleive the worst type of teacher is the one that looks good on paper but sucks at teaching. I had an algebra teacher like that my first year in college. But in reference to your teacher that blows donkey nuts. Those kind of people know they can get away with that kind of **** because they know that their superiors will do nothing about it. At least if any of the administration is like the ones at my previous schools. Oh and I hate it for you because I see your point about doing it and admitting defeat but right now it will save you about a grand in not having to take the class over with and possibly getting her again. Anyways good luck.

She's doing it just to **** with you. You hit on what was probably a sensitive subject for her, and now you're suffering the consequences. Sometimes, it's just better to keep your mouth shut, especially in situations where petty people are going to feel personally hurt or attacked. All they're going to do is look for a way to get you back. Sure, you won an argument, and made her look foolish, but what did it accomplish? Sometimes, just the satisfaction of knowing you're right has to be good enough, as opposed to that felt by actually demonstrating it. I've learned that in school, and I've definitely learned that at work.

It sucks being all adult and sh1t!

Hang on...

She made it hand-written so that you couldn't plagarize? What kind of ***-backward idiocy is that?

You/I/anyone can still pull stuff off of the internet and just re-write it by hand. Hell, we could carve it onto F@#king tablets of stone if we wanted to....

Bad teachers can't stand it when you outsmart them, good teachers reward you for it. I had a couple of teachers that greatly resented the fact that I had a better grasp of a given subject matter than they did, one history teacher actually tried to fail me.

Talk to the Dean, you've got nothing to lose by doing so.

Especially that last part. Since this is an interview. Wouldn't be kind of easier to type up something saying that you had done the interview and have the person you interviewed sign it? Take that to the dean and go from there. That is the most efficient method I can think of at the moment besides breaking into her office to either find your paper or change your grade yourself.

A teacher had to have been devoted, patient, and very good if they were able to teach you

right now i have a bad geometry teacher, he's an older guy but he can't really teach, he doesn't know how to explain things, that and he use to be the head coach of the football team so he goes really easy on all the football players, which is unfair to the rest of the kids. but my freshman year i had an excellent algebra teacher, she actually made sure that everyone in the class understood the subject before she went on, and she knew how to explain things, there's only a handful of those kind of teachers

OMG, I have had so many of those... It sucks so bad. For one of mine we could tell the teacher was a genius, he just couldn't communicate on our level to share his immense knowledge. He got frustrated when people didn't understand, he thought as long as he got it why couldn't anyone.

I also dislike teachers that can't speak very well. No disrespect intended, but even if they are super smart, it doesn't do any good if no one can understand their accent. I basically gave up on a class this semester because of the teacher not making any sense.

It deffinetly dont get any better. Here in the real world (why do we call it the real world?? School is real, anyways) you get bosses who play cool and ask your opinion then use it to stab you and your partner in the back. Then you can either get fired for going off, get moved to a different shift, or sit tight, and see if they do it again.

(yes, I have been having a little problem at work)

PS I know what you mean by bitter people like us.

Exactly. I had a computer science teacher and two english teacher that both rewarded me repeatedly for outsmarting them or their curriculum. I also had two math teachers who had vendetta's against me because of the same thing.
