Going at 6 PM this afternoon to check out a '92 hatch, test drive it and what not. Just yesterday a childs benfefit charity came and towed my old thunderbird away, thank god ;) The guys asking $2350, but if I can get him down to $2000 my dad might buy it today ;) It has 233K on it, but it does have an alarm, CD player, and tein springs. I have been waiting so long for a f/b 240sx in Turlock. Its MT tho heh, I am going to be SO mad if I can't get it!!!!Wish me luck!

$2K w/ 233k for a 92? Thats way too much, I would ask him to take off the Teins and sell the car for $800 or less.

233K? Are you planning on rebuilding or swapping any time soon?

So $2000 is way to much? When I talked to the guy on the phone, he told me that the only reason he is selling it is because he got a 350z, and that it ran really good. Either way, I am going to check it out today and I'll post pics of it tonight, if I can figure out how. I am thinking I wont get it if i can't get him to $1000 w/o the teins. I don't know how long it will be til I can swap, but I desperately need a car now.

you would think it's too much? but if you consider the location, and how rear it comes by to get one, then the seller can pretty much up the price as much as he/she wants. in california, 2G's for a 233K miles on the engine is rediculously high since average price is $1500 for a 150k car.

heh, i got my 89 h/b for 2g. 139k miles, stock everything, original everything except for the sterio. never had a new clutch put in and when i got it the clutch was alright, only new thing on it was the shocks. only things wrong w/ it are interior - ashtrey broken, exterior - nothing not a dent, rust, or discoloring, even on the bumpers. Engine - nothing except radiator has a hairline crack at the top.

That radiator crack is no joke! I was on my way to work when mine decided to blow a crack in the top and leave me stranded.... The next day I got a new one that isn't plastic crap and put it in...:ylsuper

Well I went yesterday and checked it out. It is in surprisingly good condition, 2 little dings on the outside, but paint was clean, no rust on the hatch. The guy let me drive it, just gave me the keys and let me go. It was awesome to say the least ;) The engine bay was real clean, interior perfect besides the traditional side rips on the cloth seats, a pioneer deck, stock alarm. Only thing it doesnt have that I wanted is the sunroof ;)...he sold the teins tho : \ transmission shifted smoothly through all gears, no leaks on the ground. So, I get the guy to go down to $1600 and he says fine, well I go back and talk to my dad and he decided not to front me the money yet, go figure : \

heh, 240's are pretty rare around here, theres like 4 or 5 total s13's and only 1-3 s14, within a 30 mile radius. and 2 are at dealerships

damn...reading this thread is making me think back to the exciting days leading up to buy my 240. good luck trying to buy yours man. but i still think 233k for 1600 is still a lot. if you wanna make sure you won't run into engine problems, ask him for a smog certificate. you don't wanna buy it and then "uh oh, time to smog it" and run into a s*** load of problems.
