Did the truck come with manual steering or did you swap it?

Right on!

I like how you are running the air filter open like that. Just like mine. I think it breathes best like that, but it might just be my imagination (or maybe not?). Just less clutter than the stock intake ducting.

Alot of air gets pulled through there, and when the engine gets turned off, the blow-by gasses in the crankcase seep up through the baffling and into that filter element, dirtying it even more. It's the fresh air intake for the PCV, and if it's clogged, it will definitely hurt performance. Cleaning the stocker or replacing it with a little $7 aftermarket piece is a good idea.

The stock breather filter is a little white rectangle shaped thing located in the plastic airbox.

Not trying to power preach this, but I didn't realize how important it was until recently : )

well the white truck has a catch canisterthat i made for it so the crank case is no longer connected to the intake. its the little red thing to the left of the air filter

i assume your talking about the whit truck

yea the pvc from the valve cover runs to that red thing so nothing is connected to the base plate of the air filter(i think thats the answer your looking for?)

and the oil cooler rocks!

i was having problems with the truck overheating with the ac on and the oil coller solved that.

i can drive the truck all day long then grap the oil filter and its not even hot but midly warm

did you purge the fluid? that's what does the trick... with all that fluid in there YOU are the power steering system... with the fluid out its nice and easy to turn (except low speed tight turns like trying to park)

Pez explains this more clearly over in the 720 forum in his build thread. zer...age=3

You have to keep enough fluid to lubricate the gears.

I think you can loop the lines together as well. But keep the high pressure line around and don't cut it. They can be kind of pricey.

Unless some company makes re-production parts, things are only going to get more rare and more expensive as time goes on, particularly with body parts. What this country needs is a car that holds to a philosophy like the original VW. Make a million of them. One style, standardized across the board with bulletproof yet economically feasable engineering.

There is too much exclusivity to have cheap parts.

If you think HBs have expensive parts you should try a Millenia, the prices are stupid when it comes to that car. The HBs are inexpensive to maintain in my opinion.

Did you shave the KA valve cover? Also has anyone tried to use 240sx cams/ intake on these trucks? Looks good!

The stage 1 cam for the KA is basically a 240 profile I believe. I have a cam sitting in my bedroom waiting a regrind.

I like the PDM C404.H cam for the KA-E. DeviousKA used this cam in his budget build. Price is about 270 dollars. If I was gonna spend $ on a KA-E build, this would be my cam.

C404.H - Strong performer, with good midrange pull to redline. O.K. with automatics. Our strongest seller with the most smiles! {Intake 268 degrees duration, .441 valve list, Exhaust 272 degrees duration, .447 valve lift.} (note: requires cam towers to be milled .025")

You have to shave the towers with that cam just as a warning, it's not plug and play.

240sxStock Cams: Intake 251 degrees duration, .415 lift; Exhaust 258 degrees duration, .415 lift.

vs.

C.406 - mild performance upgrade, that wakes up any stock engine with good emissions results, and good in automatics. {Intake 260 degrees duration, .424 valve lift, Exhaust 268 degrees duration, .441 valve lift.}

PDM says it will work in some HBs as well. No need to grind the towers. This would be a good starting out cam. I personally just grabbed a cam out of a HB with plans to have McQuillen race engine re-profile it for me. With that I will need new rocker arms, Nissan says to replace the rocker arms with any new cam.

That's for any motor. You could probably get away with using the stock rockers depending on how worn they are (or aren't), but if you want your cam to break in right get some new ones. HybridKA makes solid rockers for our engines. I think they convert new stockers into solid on a special order basis, but IDK the price. I wonder how they do it. Maybe it isn't even that hard.

Here are the stock cam specs...89-90 240sx STOCK cam intake: 240 degrees duration, .409 in valve lift exhaust: 248 degrees duration, .409 in valve lift

90-97 Hardbody STOCK cam intake: 232 degrees duration, .382 in valve lift exhaust: 232 degrees duration, .382 in valve lift

This doesn't match up with what PDM says is stock, and the info I'm posting isn't firsthand so IDK what is accurate. It does make sense that the stock HB has less, though.

HB built for more torque. Hybrid solid rockers are like the ones from the older engines, get out your feeler gauges.
