im picking up another ka24de for 50 bucks. i guess i'll just build that one on the side.

herse my questions

what are good cams? valve springs? valves? i plan to rebuild it with much stronger stuff so that i can turbo the engine without problems.

ecu? what do you nissan guys use? i never really looked into it since i was dealling with toyta's and hondas before.

know anywhere selling package deals? pistons and connecting rods?

how strong is the stock crank?

if im missing other things please feel free to school me. im here to learn as always :)

Click the banner on the left that advertises ARP studs for the KA24DE. They have nearly everything you are looking for.

I think he was referring to KA24DE.com

They've got ARP head studs, Ross pistons, Pauter rods, and all kinds of other stuff for your KA.

The crank is stout, to say the least. The KA comes stock with a forged crank and stud girdle. So your not breaking a crank. I'd suggest a lighten/balance job on the entire rotating assembly since you'll have it out. I've also been looking into the whole cryo treatment thing, it looks like somthing I'm definitly going to have done, turbo and all. Another thing to do, have all your bearings coated. Some places use different types of coating at variable pricing. Look around on Yahoo for the best pricing. Hmm...for ECU's we use the JWT, its the only plug and play ecu. There's the Greddy Emanage which is a piggy back ecu, which you can tune yourself, initially it comes tuned though, so ur set there.

I'd rather install a standalone though if I were going to be making any changes to my tune. Things like cams and whatnot. The guys here have a WIDE range of standalones being used. We have seen everything from the TEC3 to the SDS. I'm probably gonna go with Link cause a friend of mine works there...lol.

Anyway, there's alot of options, all of which depend on how much money you want to spend. Best of luck and happy boosting.

JWT is not the only PnP ECU out there...

Thats great and all, but do they have a ECU that just bolts in? Looks like you need to bring the car in and have the chip burned on dyno. If thats the case, there are a ton of people who can socket your ecu and tune it.

I was just reading about Secret Services on FA...they sound promising. I'm not entirely sure how "proven" their setup is, though. I think they just announced the S13 N/A ECU.

JWT is a nice safe option...I'm still looking to pick up an N/A JWT ECU myself, second hand. $100 to retune for turbo, etc. isn't bad at all.

I startted off with a few simple questions, like do they make a rom tune for the S14 OBDI and II, mioxed with what options...etc. I'll hammer them about details as soon as I get a reply.

If the price is right, I may start a bussiness with them. Using their ECU's with my turbo kits. That would rock...stg 1 and 2...woohoo.
