Yep that's right I'm jumping into this head first. I'm getting ready for a head job and am looking for ways to clear/clean up the engine bay. I just looked at it and it's a royal wreck under there. Looks MUCH too crowded for my tastes. Anyoen have some tips and info on cleaning it up a bit? (See my engine pic in the pics thread to get an idea what I stare at when I pop the hood).

Also what are some easy quick first mods I should look into doing on this car? It's a dog-o-matic but I'd like to get a LITTLE more power out of her (It's got a 2.8L engine and 8 HP less than my stock Conquest with the 2.6??? C'mon what's going on here?).

Thanks again for the help folks.

just depends, you said 2.8 so it's a 75-78 280Z or a 78-83 280zx, some people keep the injection, some swap in favor of carbs, mine is turbo and injected, I havn't got any pics of my current set up as right now but similar to thisI shaved my throttle risers and swapped to a throttle cable on an inverted 240SX throttle body with a reclocked throttle, non egr 75 intake manifold, with the pallnet O-ring fuel rail and a custo wire harness to go with my megasquirt, mine isn't quite as clean as his and I also still have my stock optical distributor and plug wires crossing the valve cover, changing to a non egr intake and swapping to an O-ring fuel rail really does a lot towards cleaning up the intake

Right probably should have specified. I have the 2.8L sitting in an '83 280 ZX with the turbo. My other thread tells a bit more about what I'm looking at so far. Going to pull the head off anyways and try port matching the exhaust and intake manis as well as looking into a 3 or 5 angle valve job.
