some digital climate control swap questions, as well as pics of my rb vert

General discussion forum about the 240sx, and a great place to introduce yourself to the board!

so i have spent the last few days trying to get this damn digital climate control swap done on my car

heres what ive done so far

1. unplugged the max cold air door motor and relay from back here (the 2 plugs you see are the plugs for the motor and relay)



2. unplugged the blue relay from the USDM harness



3. unplugged these 2 things from these 2 plugs (anybody know what they are called?)



4. cut the RED/YELLOW wire from the USDM harness and ran it to a ground



5. ran the GREEN/WHITE and BLUE/RED wires from the JDM CC harness to a IGN+



6. ran the RED wire from the single plug on the JDM CC harness to a 12vconstant



7. plugged these to plugs together (male side is from USDM harness, female side is JDM CC harness)



8. plugged these 2 plugs together (again one side is USDM harness other is JDM CC harness



9. plugged the JDM hot/cold door controler motor in to its plug on the JDM CC harness (motor is not mounted yet)

i know i dont have all the sensors, but i dont have AC so i dont care about the auto function working. and please excuse the crappy wiring job, i dont want to make any connections permanent until i get it working 100%

9. plugged in the JDM CC and it wouldnt come on when the key was on until i pressed AUTO, and when its on it would kinda flicker, getting a little brighter then a little dimmer.

and none of the motors will move even though im changing the settings on the CC, also the blower would not turn on at any setting. and the whole unit would turn off if i pressed the 2 buttons on the lower right of the face (recirculate and defrost)



so thats as far as ive gotten and now im stuck, so can somebody please give me some insight on what im doing wrong and/or what parts i need to get it to work correctly. and i have already looked through ALL the DCC swap threads and none of them reallt explain anything that good, and were not real help. so if i ever do get this thing working properly i plan on doing a strait and clear write up with pics. so please any info helps

and as promised here are 2 pics of my car taken earlier today, i will get some more up in the next couple of days, i was busy messing with this all day so i only took 2 pics

Did you replace the part on the right side with JDM one?

I'm about to do this mode and pulled out an airbox from junkyard to figure out air mix door motor mounting and length of the rod, so hold on. I'll figure it out today or tomorrow and post.

nice rb swap. off topic question, which mount kit did you use, it sits in there stock like.

as far as the digi climiate is concerned, good luck, i am clueless on the topic.

Sensor on your left is the thermo sensor. Plug that back in and dont touch that. The plug on the right needs to be replaced with the JDM blower sensor. You can still plug the USDM harness into it and it will work.

no i have not replaced that part on the right with the jdm one, i dont have the jdm sensor so i currently have a add in the wtb section to try to buy one.

so i presume that means i need the jdm one for it to work?

i too am in the middle of mounting the hot/cold door motor so if you do find a way to mount it please let me know

it is mounted using stock r32 crossmember as well as stock r32 motor mounts, which are shorter then ka motor mounts, which is why it sits in there nice and cozy lol

-ok i will plug the relay back in

- ok im also gonna plug the thermo sensor back in. and i currently have a add in the wtb section to try to aquire a JDM blower sensor

so if i plug the blue relay, and thermo sensor back in and get a jdm blower sensor that should be all i need? or is there still more i need to do?

thanks for the help to guys! i cant wait to have my heater and defroster working again lol
