My car runs warmer then i believe it should. The needle sits a little more than a 3rd way up on the water temp gauge even at idle. If I drive and then sit at a red light for more than a few minutes my temp starts rising rather quickly. If Im driving without starting and stopping it stays a little less than half way up on the water temp gauge. I have a Koyo radiator, a nismo thermostat and a 14" Permacool fan wired to my blower motor fuse so it is on constantly. I am not to sure how it is supposed to be wired if someone could tell me where to run the wires id appreciate it. I think the water pump bearing might have gone out and maybe that explains the high temp.

On the same subject what are some of the best cooling mods for a daily driven/weekend track car.

ok, those are good mods, now, did you bleed the system when you refilled it, there is a bleed plug on the intake manifold, you remove that and pour coolant into the radiator untill it overflows from that plug, then you replace plug and pressure cap and you should be good to go

i didnt now about that plug, you said on the bottom of the intake manifold and pour til coolant comes out the hole just to clarify.

Anyone got any other ideas or suggestions.

top of intake manifold, next to the coolant temp sensor, there is a little gold label next to it that says "dont open when hot" pour the coolant into the radiator, and not the hole

any more questions?

If the car only over heats when your sitting still try to rev the engine to about 2000 while waiting at the light if the tempature does not go up it could be your water pump. If it does i would check the fan make sure it comes on when the key is on you may need to turn you ac on if you have it to the blower moter, try hooking in=t up some place else. your car does not over heat when you drive because you have air flowing over the radiator, check for an obstruction in the radiator hoses that could hamper flow, not stop flow but slow it down. This may sound stupid but make sure your water is turning the right way some can be connected backwards or have the wrong belt on it. if the pump is going out there should be coolant coming out of the weep hole, those holes in the side of it, i be back later with more suggestions the bell just rang i must go to class
