yeah sombody went ape on my brand new 93 coupe. was a garaged car with only 23k miles, had a red/orange/silver mixed paint to create a awesome redish orgish metallicy paint. looks better than im explaining. will post pics later, anyways. they didnt use the fine point of the key. they used liek the sides. creatign in some places almost .5 inch in width key marks from front to rear on the right side of the car. It is so bad that they actually manages to make indents into the metal. wow 2 weeks after I bought the car too....

Anyways. what should I do to fix this problem? other than get a army tank and roll over every honda on the street.. which was probably owned by the people who did it. ha JK.

Anyways, yeah Im upset and dont know what to do. my paint is mostly red, but UV raids cause red paint to deform the most ( color wise ) . so if I paint the right pannel of the WHOLE right side. it wont match the others. if I was to put a 3 inch by 3 inch square all over the right side of my car there is atleast a 1 inch long key mark in each box.. its that bad. right now im just wondering what to do. file insurance... which will most likley rip me off and raise my monthly payments out the ying yang... or buy a expensive paint job? or ****ty mayco.... anyways.

Please leave suggestions on what to do and if u want me to post pictures of the damage let me know in a reply. thanks for the help looking forward to your guys's suggestions thanks.

I don't know who you use for insurance, but when my vehicles are vandalized(happens enough to use that wording), it is covered under the "comprehensive" coverage, minus my deductible.

You weren't at fault, so it's not a claim against you/your policy.

They don't come after you when you're not at fault. This is one of those times when comprehesive coverage comes in handy. You pay premiums for years, now is the payoff.

Do you have comprehensive coverage? This incident would be covered if you do, minus your deductible.

With comprehensive coverage: drop car off at body shop of your choice. Pick up freshly refinished car. Pay only your deductible. The rest is covered.

Without comprehensive coverage: search for lowest refinish price and pay full amount out of your pocket.

Lets murder them... that is not right, and the fact its a cardinal sin to even breath wrong on a 240 with a nice paintjob makes it even more justifiable...

That's why they did it, you know. I hate my town because you simply cannot have anything nice. It has to be, get in, go somewhere, don't park it, hit the drive-thru, drive home. No movie theaters, no mall parking lots, no nothing. If she wants to go somewhere and actually go inside, we take her car.

lol....sorry to laugh. That really sucks though. If you have a nice car, you want to be able to enjoy it and not have to worry about it every minute while your away from it. Dam* jealious people.

You will definitely want to look in to covering this under your insurance. Call your agent up and explain the situation. Ask them if they think it will have a significant impact on your rates. Now, if the damage ends up being a $100 over your deductible, I probably wouldn't bother with the claim.

In general, comprehensive claims won't drastically effect your premiums OR get you cancelled unless you have a history of them or an otherwise really nasty record of accidents and traffic violations.

It certainly can't hurt to call your agent (unless you deal direct with the company), as they're making commission off of your policy. They should do some damn work for you!

They *should* be able to tell you for sure what effect a comp claim would have on your rates, if any.

damn haters, they can suck a d***. Comperhesive claims will not effect your insurance rate. just got to have a the documents. they might total your car. when someone stole my car they won't let me buy it back after my comperhesive claim, don't know bout yours. AND NEVER ACCEPT THEIR FIRST OFFER, INSURANCE CO. R BULLSTUFF ON EM.

Forget that, get one that blows them up. If they're stupid enough to vandalize a car for no reason they don't deserve to be alive.
