You will definitely want to look in to covering this under your insurance. Call your agent up and explain the situation. Ask them if they think it will have a significant impact on your rates. Now, if the damage ends up being a $100 over your deductible, I probably wouldn't bother with the claim.
In general, comprehensive claims won't drastically effect your premiums OR get you cancelled unless you have a history of them or an otherwise really nasty record of accidents and traffic violations.
It certainly can't hurt to call your agent (unless you deal direct with the company), as they're making commission off of your policy. They should do some damn work for you!
They *should* be able to tell you for sure what effect a comp claim would have on your rates, if any.
