We have finaly solved our problem after a year and a half. Last major part that fixed it was yet another ECU.
What we did (and number of differant parts we tried):Rebuilt engine (Falure not related but did eliminate internal engine as a cause)Removed all Emissions stuff Replaced the Maf (x2)Replaced the Distributor (x3)Replaced all 4 injectors (once)Replaced #1 and 3injectors (1 addtional time)Cap and Rotor (x2)Coil (x2)Power transistor (x2)Rewired Ignition circuit (x1)Replaced internal harness (x1)Replaced Transmission (not related but we did do it)Replaced Engine Temp Sensor (x1)Replaced ECU (X4)
When we first go this car it would not rev above about 3000 and was only running on 2 cylinders. Over time we finaly got it to go to about 4000 to 4500 (our chep aftermarket tach jumps a bit.) We were stuck there for a while while we tried differant ECU's. Unknown to us, we were swapping bad for bad.
Finaly we were able to put in a good ECU and can rev to Red line everytime without fault.
My son got his first win in a heat race this past saturday. Main event did not go as well We got a flat but the car ran great.
