I brought from costco the goodyear wiper blades at buy one and get one free. The smallest wiper blade was the 16" blade. I brought it and tried to see if it would fit and it was hitting the plastic window trim. I tried to modify it as I had nothing to loose since it was free. This took me about 15 minutes to do.

if you unscrew the bolt holding your passenger side wiper, and adjust it upwards, you can gain an inch or so without having to go through this trouble everytime.

I tried to move the wiper blade up and for it not to hit on high I needed to move it off the black area of the glass. I didn't like the look of it and kept staring at it when I was driving. Another thing I was looking at is the the aerodynamics. From the slope of the hood flowing onto the windshield it would be in the airstream when the wiper was parked. The only hard part was to drill the hole. Im planning on making a drill block on a milling machine so I can make a perfect hole without measuring. It should take me less than several minutes to do then.

Just thought of something else. You only need to cut down a wiper blade once since you can now just change the blade itself and keep the frame. If you buy a 28" wiper blade and cut it in half you will have two refills for the price of one. Just keep the end caps as that is the only thing that might break when changing them.

ill do a more detailed DIY this weekend, but for now:

take a look at a window wiper
look at the point there it connects to the bottom, by the lower portion of the windshield
all the way at the end, there is a cap thats covering a 12mm bolt.
pop that cap off, loosen the bolt half way and jiggle the wiper arm itself(it might take some muscle)
once you have the wiper arm spinning freely. adjust it about an inch or so from its previous position and retighten bolt.
check the wiper action on full speed making sure its ok (otherwise re-do it).
DONE!

I haven't had to replace the wipers on my Rogue yet but why is everyone going to all this trouble? I understand 14" is a rare size but doesn't the dealer just sell refills (by that I mean the blade insert)?

people dont want the metal framed wiper. people want the flexible frame-less ones.
