The upper rag joint on my Z appears to be rotted and causing a lot of slop in the steering. I can't find a factory replacement for it unless you buy the whole steering column.

I know they make these for the 240sx

Does anyone know if they are the same size on the Z? I'd like to replace it while I have the engine out of the car.

You sure its not your steering rack bushings? They are more common to fail and will cause a lot of loose steering issues. WAY WAY easier to do with engine out, especially for TT: https://conceptzperformance.com/Cart/de ... php?II=223 . Even if you don't think its that and you have OEM rubber, just replace it now. Well worth it.

I have already replaced the steering rack and steering rack bushing with energy suspension bushings. Steering is still sloppy. Lower steering joint does not have much play in it, the only loose joint I can find is the upper rag joint.

If anyone is interested the 240sx solid rag joint does seem to work. I had to ream out the anodized coating inside the bolt holes so the shoulder of the bolt would fit through but it bolted on just fine after that. I will add that the car doesn't have an engine so I haven't had a chance to road test it yet. I will update when the car is road worthy again.
