Well tomorrow I am going to pull my oil pan and fix the bad leak I have because I let the rtv dry and then proceeded to put the pan on. Well I just found out yesterday that felpro makes a solid oil pan gasket. From the looks of it it should hold up well, I also bought some copper gasket spray to help seal the gasket with the pan. I don't think everyone knows about solid oil pan gasket, but here is a pic of what they look like.

So you are saying the best way to put on the gasket is also put rtv on both sides of the gasket and then bolt it up that way?

I'd put a light layer of RTV on both sides of the gasket.

I bought a gasket kit that included one of those stupid cork gaskets.but cork gaskets really are crappy, so I just followed the FSM procedures and used RTV. Its how the oilpan was on there for 15 years and 200,000 miles so I figure its good enough for me.
