i have an rb20 in a triumph spitfire and was wondering if it being solid mounted would trigger the knock sensors(false knock) , my friend says it would, but i dont see how if its tight, i dont have a port to check with a laptop or anything. could i just disconnect them, in only running the stock 10psi??

it shouldnt, ive seen plenty of solid mount setups running no problems...worst case secnario does think its knock and it kicks back timing.

pulling back timing is what im concerned about, my rb doesnt really want to rev past 6000, even in an extremely light car.

a stock motor (turbo, cams) wont really 'pull' past 6.5, no airflow...

I'll give you the correct answer If you post some pics of your car up!

Really how did you fit that motor in a spitfire? What year is it? I was looking at one and an SR20 looked like a tight fit. And the rear suspension/drivetrain didn't look up to par to hold me then 250hp. Props on doing such a unique swap.

ill try to get some pics up tonight, basically i built the car around the engine. i removed the tansmission tunnel and firewall and got the engine in and then biult the firewall and tunnel. also had to lower the steering rack had a custom made driveshaft (20"). for now i just have spring spacers in the front coil only because my 3" downpipe goes under the frame and is about 1.5-2" off the ground. my only concern right now isd the rear-end, its IRS wich only give it a few move areas to break, but so far its held up to numerous 1-2 gear 100' burnouts. now once it hooks that will be a different story. as you can tell im proud of this one, mainly because its unique and also because its 100% stock besides exhaust (no intercooler)and pretty certain it will be in the 12's.
